Thompson had a good start as he won 60 60 but lose 61 63 to Stabile in the final round. Sadly three seeds ranked higher than him lost and occupied the LL spots. Hopefully there'll be another withdrawal.
Cox sneaked into the last seeding position! He has a first round bye and will play either Stabile or the highly rated Grigor Dimitrov in the second round. It'll be a tough match. Hope Dan will be at his best. The other seed in Dan's section is none other than top seed and world number three Roman Jebavy of Czech Republic, who edged out Dan in that great match at this year's AO.
He is playing doubles with Davide Della Tomasina of Italy.
Evans is the fifteenth seed and will play either Rafael Garcia of Brazil or Jiri Kosler of the Czech Republic. Garcia beat him last week, so it'll be a good opportunity for revenge. The other seed in his section is Rivera Aranguiz of Chile, the worl number thirteen.
Josh Milton plays Joao Sousa of Portugal and Rice plays a local wild card. Sousa will be tough, so good luck to Josh.
Josh needn't worry that much - so much time is left. Just remember that Tim Henman went out in the first round of a Junior Slam where he went on to reach the semis four (and counting) times as a pro. Hard work can do everything.
Dimitrov is supposed to be a good clay player, so I am impressed with this win. Dan said that he isn't feeling that well, hopefully he'll be all right as Jebavy will be a really tough match.
By the way, Milton isn't injured - just ill. Let's pray that he'll play in Brazil next week!
Dan Evans came back to win 2-6 6-2 6-2 and plays (3) Rivera Aranguiz in Rd 3, who I think played another of the boys in a SF of an earlier cosat tournament - but I may be wrong!
