Boys: 27th Asuncion Bowl - ITF Grade 1 - 2007.

Starts on 5th March.

http://www.cosat.org/main/index.php?i=torneo.lista&id=109&c=6

Main draw: Graeme Dyce, Daniel Cox, Daniel Evans and David Rice.
Qualies: Josh Milton, Michael Thompson, Tim Hewitt and Scott Sears.

It's very tough from here as the events are Grade 1/As.
Dan isn't even seeded now! It'll change as the withdrawal deadline is some distance away.

Josh got into the main draw. Looks like Hewitt and Sears have gone back home.

Qualies first round:

Michael Thompson [213] vs. Augusto Ceppo [1553] of Argentina.

Thompson is the fifth seed and the other seed in his section is Andre Stabile [266] of Brazil.

Thompson had a good start as he won 60 60 but lose 61 63 to Stabile in the final round. Sadly three seeds ranked higher than him lost and occupied the LL spots. Hopefully there'll be another withdrawal.

Cox sneaked into the last seeding position! He has a first round bye and will play either Stabile or the highly rated Grigor Dimitrov in the second round. It'll be a tough match. Hope Dan will be at his best.
The other seed in Dan's section is none other than top seed and world number three Roman Jebavy of Czech Republic, who edged out Dan in that great match at this year's AO.

He is playing doubles with Davide Della Tomasina of Italy.

Evans is the fifteenth seed and will play either Rafael Garcia of Brazil or Jiri Kosler of the Czech Republic. Garcia beat him last week, so it'll be a good opportunity for revenge.
The other seed in his section is Rivera Aranguiz of Chile, the worl number thirteen.

Josh Milton plays Joao Sousa of Portugal and Rice plays a local wild card. Sousa will be tough, so good luck to Josh.

Will post the full draw later on.

Thnaks for the results Arka!

Well done to Rice again! Milton will want to forget this tour I think!

(that link for the doubles draw is the singles link again - sorry!)

Josh needn't worry that much - so much time is left. Just remember that Tim Henman went out in the first round of a Junior Slam where he went on to reach the semis four (and counting) times as a pro. Hard work can do everything.

(Link fixed.)

Scary doubles draw. Last weeks final could be a R2 match!

(and they might actually play this time!)

Arka do you know why Dan Cox is playing with Della Tommasina?

Do you know if they are friends/stablemates or do you think they just both needed a partner?

They knew each other from before.

And Dan/Rice vs. Inze/Piro was actually last week's semifinal.

Ok that's good. So they've already beaten them!

Good that dan knows his partner. It always helps in doubles!

Dimitrov is supposed to be a good clay player, so I am impressed with this win. Dan said that he isn't feeling that well, hopefully he'll be all right as Jebavy will be a really tough match.

By the way, Milton isn't injured - just ill. Let's pray that he'll play in Brazil next week!

Dan Evans came back to win 2-6 6-2 6-2 and plays (3) Rivera Aranguiz in Rd 3, who I think played another of the boys in a SF of an earlier cosat tournament - but I may be wrong!
