RE: ATP San Jose 2007 R2 - Murray v Pless

Even though he's broken serve, Murray is still unhappy about one of the calls in the previous game when Pless hit an ace. Has a few words with the umpire about it.

Murray serving:

15-0: service winner

30-0: crushing forehand winner

40-0: Pless chip-charges, but sends the chip long

Game: Return goes long

6-0, 4-3*

15-30: Pless nets a forehand

30-30: Big off-forehand winner

40-30: Murray sends a second serve return out, big chance there

Game: Murray misses an approach shot

40-0: Murray attacks the net, a lot safer this time and puts volley away. Pless gets there but can't get it back over the net

40-15: One of Pless' best points, manoueveres Murray about the court, has him far behind the baseline and then plays a dropshot winner. Rare touch of finesse from the Dane

Game: Ace down the T

Pless serving:

0-15: Return winner down the line from Murray

15-15: Big serve, short return from Murray and Pless puts the short ball away

30-15: Pless wrongfoots Murray down the line

40-15: Murray sends a forehand wide and shouts "bollocks" very loudly

40-30: Murray works Pless around the court, using the slice before suddenly upping the pace and smashing a backhand winner cross-court

Game: Pless powers a forehand winner into the corner

Very solid game there from Pless, no cheap points for Andy

6-5 another chance to break for the match before a tiebreak. Hope he manages to break, whilst I think Murray would be the absolute favourite to take a tiebreak you never quite know and an odd point can make all the differnce. I definitely can't stay awake through a third set anyways!

hmm 30-0 looks like it will be a tiebreak to decide this set.

TB time. This is so much harder than it should have been after the first set. Guess you have to give Pless credit for getting himself back into it but if Andy hadn't been broken so early it could have been a very different story. Lets just hope he takes it on the TB and doesn't need to go to 3.

1-1*
