Pless serving:

15-0: Big 1st serve

30-0: ace

30-15: Brilliant topspin lob winner from Murray

40-15: Pless attacks the net and Murray can't find a way past. Looking a bit frustrated

Game: Murray just misses with a backhand down the line

6-0, *0-2

are you watching USM?

grr at Andy dropping two games in a row, I turn my back for just a minute. grr grr grrr.

On the bright side, I've worked out that Jamie B should be at roughly 252 in the rankings, and if he wins one more match, will overtake JonnyM, two more Alan Mac, four more Greg and Josh. So there's an incentive for him!

Andy gets on the board in teh second set. Now don't drop another point please Murray, I'm tired!

Up to 27% by the end of the game. Hopefully that lapse is over.

Murray serving:

0-15: Murray dropshot brings Pless in but the Dane anticipates where he's going to go and puts away the volley

15-15: Pless return goes long

30-15: Pless attacks the net but Murray passes him

40-15: Big serve and return is long

Game: Great return from Pless but Murray deals with it and the Dane sends the next forehand into the net

6-0, 1-2*

The Murray serve has gone walkabout in the last couple of service games which is why Pless has been able to get into them more

This is something he will need to work on - he does occassionally have these wee mental walkabout moments and although I'm sure it's nothing major against Pless, it's something he needs to be careful about. It's obviously easy to say that I guess - but it must be hard not to let your level drop even a little when you are cruising like that. I'd feel better though if he would get the break back soon though - Pless seems to be holding a little too easilly at the moment.

Pless wins a love service game, what's happened?

USM has Andy lost concentration or has losing a set 60 spurred Pless into a 'purple patch' as our very own John Lloyd would put it?

Pless serving:

15-0: High backhand smash winner

30-0: Pless volley hits the top of the tape and just drops over Andy's side

40-0: Big serve out wide and Murray return is long

Game: Another good serve out wide and Andy's return sails long again.

Pless has definately upped his level now, serving a lot better. However, unless Andy gives him the double break, I can't see Andy not having chances to get back into this set

0-15

Break back point - c'mon Andy. And he takes it first time of asking.

Hopefully that's the mini-crisis over. A nice easy service game here would be good though.

To sum things up, Pless isn't making so many ues in this set, he's serving a lot better and Andy's isn't getting as many 1st serves in so he's having to work a lot harder on his service games.

Andy serving:

15-0: Pless backhand hits the tape but drops back over his side

30-0: Long rally and Pless sends a backhand long

40-0: A really wild backhand from Pless

Game: Ace up the T

6-0, 2-3*

30-0, Andy's 1st serve percentage is at 39% for this set which is quite frankly shocking! How does he manage to do it? Oh well, at least it's improving and i'm sure Brad will have something to say about it afterwards!
40-0
game. Another break and hold please Andy and I can be in bed by 1am (that means you have to win the next two games in 6mins, not too hard is it?)

Pless serving:

0-15: He serve-volleys but it's a good return from Murray and Pless sends the volley wide

0-30: Good return from Murray cramping Pless who's run round to hit an off-forehand and can't control it, sending it wide

15-30: Ace out wide

30-30: Another ace out wide. Murray has a quiet curse at the umpire

30-40: Break point !  Pless sends another backhand wide

Game Murray: He gets the break back as Pless sends a forehand long

Pless is way too inconsistent in the rallies to properly trouble Murray in this one, just relying on big 1st serves.

6-0, *3-3

That's better, 4-3.

Now break again, Andy!
