Well, I mostly like Djokovic, so I am rare here, but I feel sorry for Kim and the kids that Andy will be away so long again.
Kim has brought up her family without Andy always by her side. She obviously has an excellent family support network. Maybe it just didnt work out with Andy around all the time when she is so good at organising things at home? Anyway I am sure Andy will have made the decision with Kims blessing.

Jamie Delgado's thoughts on Andy's appointment. A couple of interesting paragraphs in the middle:
In many ways they were quite similar players with tremendous tennis IQ. Many members of the sport's new generation are not necessarily thinkers on the court, preferring to play matches under their own powerful terms with big serves and groundstrokes. Unlike with Andy and Novak, I don't see so much of a plan B or plan C out there.
As a duo, Andy and Novak will be able to discuss and formulate strategies for different opponents or scenarios. Andy was amazing as a player in sensing people's strengths and weaknesses very early in the match, and he will be able to do that as a coach from the front row of the courtside box. Bear in mind also that the ban has been lifted on coaches communicating with players during matches.
And later:
A pivotal factor with any coaching relationship is having instant respect from the player. Obviously, Andy is someone Novak would be happy to listen to straight away. Whatever Andy suggests will carry a lot of weight as he has played in the biggest matches, won the biggest matches and lost the biggest moments. At the highest level he knows the tension and the pressure of practice weeks leading into a grand slam. He knows how to deal with the fans, the media and the sponsorship commitments.
And Andy's lost little Rusty:
Hours after the surprise revelation that he will coach Djokovic, Murray posted a heartfelt message on social media paying tribute to his family's late dog Rusty. "The house feels empty without you," Murray wrote.
Im quite excited about seeing how it goes - tbh, really hope it goes well; think it brings a lot of interest to the top of the game that I was losing a bit.

Just hope they dont meet Jack!
It will be interesting, I'll give you that much. But still - anyone but Djokovic!
Not sure whether to start a new thread re Andy coaching Nojo, but want to say that I feel torn and am taking more interest in Nojo. I wanted him to get knocked out when he went down a set but also didn't want it for Andy - and don't want Andy to get sacked.

Anyone else relate?
Yes
The sooner this partnership ends the better.
Agreed. My preferred scenario would be Andy ending the partnership, saying it's not a good fit and he doesn't feel he can add enough to Nojo's game.
(I don't want him sacked because I don't want him "tainted" by this and I want everyone else lining up to hire him! And then for him to get hired by a series of GB players (men and women) to take them to the next level.)

I've got mixed feelings about this too as I enjoy seeing him in the limelight albeit in the enemy's camp.

Being frank, I mainly want it to be a success and see Andy make a difference to Novak's game - dont care if it is Novak or anyone else, just like to see Andy be a success.
One match is early days (dont count Brisbane as Andy wasnt there), so hard to tell from that.
I suspect this is Novaks last season, he isnt getting any younger or better, and dont expect Andys involvement will run beyond the 4 slams, maybe IW and Miami, and maybe US hardcourts and then grass prep more widely.
Given their involvement, be interesting to see if Novak plays a grass warmup for a change, maybe Queens? I am sure Andy will try to persuade him to if Novak views this as a last season.
