Interesting move from @andy_murray - Esteban Carril will be with him in Stockholm on a week's trial. Could be part of the team going forward - good to see Andy looking to 2022

Has Emma rejected Esteban Carril?  Thought he was the front runner for her new coach.

Certainly sounds like it. Comments on the BBC sport website. But Katie Swan has parted company with Esteban.

Why should we assume Emma rejected him? If Andy made him an offer would that not be equally attractive? Andy has been very competitive in many recent matches but hasn't been able to turn them into wins so it looks as though he is trying to find that little bit of difference which will help him have more success next year. Let's hope it works and we can go on supporting him for a bit longer yet.

Thanks FW; the Mubudala event was quite good a few years ago, but went through a couple of dodgy seasons with pull outs etc but the field looks v interesting again this year

Andy has committed to playing in the first grass court event in Stuttgart in the summer. Presumably then on to Queens and Wimbledon in turn

Thanks FW - I see this as win win. For Jamie, it is a good opportunity, Shapo is talented and must have rated Jamie, and probably sounded Andy out; Andy I suspect was ready for a new voice; he's been playing well and as we all comment, falling just tantalisingly short. Perhaps he wanted/needed a new voice and the opportunity arises at just the right time for both of them.

Interestingly Carril didnt pass tests with both Emma and Andy, clearly not a good fit for whatever reason, although clearly he added a lot to JoKo

Maybe I have missed it but little (nothing?) has been said by Andy or Jamie re their split? Is their some bad feeling do we think or ...? Seems strange not to thank each other, recognising that it doesnt all need to be in public of course!

I was thinking the same, nothing much to speak of from the pundits either.

In retrospect it was clear something was happening when Andy did the week with Carril in Stockholm. Whether Jamie had already aligned to Shapo or Andy instigated it?

I don't want to hear a gossip /slagging off fest. But I'd be really pleased to hear the thinking behind the change and what Andy was seeking from a new coach.

I'd imagine there comes a time when just need to hear a different voice and be presented with new ideas. It's been a long relationship w

It's been a long relationship with Jamie in tennis terms but how a new coach will help with a return to past glories I'd like to know.

Also of course it may have been Jamies deciding he wanted to work with a player still with the possibility to develop their career.

Good win against Nadal. Nadal obviously a bit rusty but the standard was really good.
