Although it is just a momentary (or weekly!) statistic, a cursory glance at the junior boys rankings shows that only the USA and Russia have more than 4 boys ranked 63 or higher. The downside is that Dyce, the current no 1, is only ranked 37, whilst many other countries have one or even two ranked higher. This suggests that we may need to wait a year or two for the two Dans to challenge for places in the top 10. The very few juniors who eventually come through to make the top 100 in the ATP rankings have usually been top 5 in juniors.
I agree, we can have both the Dans in the top 10 at the start of 2008.
Time is running out for Dyce and Rice. Dyce needs to sort out his consistency problems - he lost to a player ranked 540 and beat the world number 1 in the space of one month! At least we know that he is capable of it.
Rice has been the most impressive player out here so far (in my opinion) and is progressing fast. He doesn't defend much from here on, so he can do it if he keeps improving.
