Boys: HRT Winter Cup - ITF Grade 4 - 2007.

Yet another trip for the boys to Scandinavia... This starts on 12th Feb and is played on carpet.

Entry List.

Main draw:

Marcus Willis, Neil Pauffley.

Qualies:

George Coupland, Alex Bull, Benedict Calnan, Paul Brown, Lloyd Callum, Ben Davies, Ahmed El Menshawy, Nicholas Jones, David Watson and Sam Williams.

I hope that this will be the last ever trip Willis and Pauffley are going to make to play the smaller tournaments. Both of them, particularly Willis, are good enough for tournaments of Grade 2 or better.

It'll be interesting to see what Nick Jones does in case he turns up for qualies. I've read a lot about him in the papers.

N.B. The new posting box is rubbish.  Sorry for the split sentences, I can't work out how to edit them...

I wonder what the prize is for the winner? Didn't someone say they normally give gifts as well as cups?...

Need to be careful, or they'll get banned for doping

Pauffley lost 2 and 1.

Willis lost 63 75.

Spong is a half decent player, but I thought that Willis had too much for him. Better luck to him in Holland.

Pauffley actually won 6-2, 6-1 !   Fantastic result against the top seed who's just outside the top 100 !

He now plays Russian 7th seed Artem Pudovkin for a place in the final. Pudovkin beat the 3rd seed in 3 sets in the quarters. Definately a winnable match.

Shame about Willis but this Spong geezer seems to be quite good, hasn't dropped a set yet

Was the site speaking rubbish or was I speaking rubbish?

Great win for Pauffley!

I blame lack of sleep

It's on the drawsheet so must be right

I checked the drawsheet yesterday and it definitely said that Pauffley had lost. I was so disappointed I couldn't bear to be the bearer of bad news. So it was the site that was talking rubbish, Arka.

Phew! Good to know that three straight nights of livescoring the Brothers Murray hasn't affected my brain.

Pauffley won 26 61 64.

Plays Spong in the final. Spong already has a senior point, so he's good.
