I hope that this will be the last ever trip Willis and Pauffley are going to make to play the smaller tournaments. Both of them, particularly Willis, are good enough for tournaments of Grade 2 or better.
It'll be interesting to see what Nick Jones does in case he turns up for qualies. I've read a lot about him in the papers.
N.B. The new posting box is rubbish. Sorry for the split sentences, I can't work out how to edit them...
Spong is a half decent player, but I thought that Willis had too much for him. Better luck to him in Holland.
Pauffley actually won 6-2, 6-1 ! Fantastic result against the top seed who's just outside the top 100 !
He now plays Russian 7th seed Artem Pudovkin for a place in the final. Pudovkin beat the 3rd seed in 3 sets in the quarters. Definately a winnable match.
Shame about Willis but this Spong geezer seems to be quite good, hasn't dropped a set yet
I checked the drawsheet yesterday and it definitely said that Pauffley had lost. I was so disappointed I couldn't bear to be the bearer of bad news. So it was the site that was talking rubbish, Arka.
