Fantastic performances from both of them...especially Jocelyn Has she won any G2s, G3s or G4s yet ? She must be one of the favourites for the title now. How high would she need to get to make RG junior qualies ?
I hadn't heard of Amanda Elliott before this tournament but she's beaten two opponents ranked much higher very comfortably. She's 17, played a few womens tournaments last year. She made a 10K quarter-final in Ikley on grass but needs another couple of tournaments to get her first ranking.
In the quarters Jocelyn faces Switzerland's Sarah Moundir. 14 year old Moundir has a junior ranking of 626 and did extremely well in the G2 in Peru last week, reaching the semis. This week she knocked out the 8th seed 6-0, 7-6 in round 1 so she'll provide a tough test for Jocelyn.
Amanda plays Romania's Cristina Stancu who has a junior ranking of 501. Stancu is very fortunate to be in the quarters as in her first round match she had to play the 4th seed who was leading 7-5, 3-4 when she sustained an injury and was forced to retire.
Great wins for both girls against potentially tricky opponents
In the semis, they will be up against seeded Japanese opposition. Jocelyn plays 3rd seed Kurumi Naka who's ranked 159 and is yet to drop a set this week. Like Jocelyn, Naka is currently unranked on the womens tour but has played a few tournaments, reaching a 10K quarter-final last September.
Amanda will be up against 2nd seed Yuuki Tanaka, a 16 year old leftie with a current junior ranking of 102. She reached a G2 final in Peru last week and has yet to be troubled in Bolivia. Both Amanda and Jocelyn will have a good idea of their opponent's game styles as Naka and Tanaka defeated British players in the opening round here.

Probably will be just a bit too much to ask, do you think ? Will require a 200 place ranking jump in 3 months, it's possibly if she maintains this form but how many tournaments is she allowed to play ?
Joc turns 16 this 20th Feb, so she can play twenty five tournaments from then until 20th Feb 2008!
It's not unlikely. It depends more on whether she wants to get there. Currently the difference between herself and the player ranked 125 is something like 130 points. She can cut that down to 30 if she wins this title out here!! Of course, people will accumulate more points as the year progresses...
I am looking at the top 120 for Joc by the end of this trip. She'll play in the next three tournaments and then come back home unless she is tempted to stay there for some more action. Even top 100 isn't that difficult an ask, given the sort of form she is on.
ok, looks as though Jocelyn's going to have made a huge ranking jump by the end of this trip ! Didn't realise there were that many points on offer here !
RG junior qualies looks very likely. How many players do you think we could have in that: Jade Curtis, Tara Moore, Jocelyn....who are our next best junior players ? I assume that Naomi, Jade and Tara are our top 3 at the moment ?
Naomi will get a direct entry ad Jade should get it. If Jocelyn decides to push it hard like Evans is doing, she can do it. With Tara it depends on how she has planned her schedule from now till August.
For qualies....
Michaela Ince is our number four, after Naomi, Jade and Tara, but she has disappeared from the scenario totally. Steph and Amanda Cunningham aren't playing much and I don't see them making it. Yasmin has a good chance as she is heading to South America. Broady is also making the trip and might get there if she plays really well.
