Just to note that the lad who beat Aidan in R1 6-4 in the third has made the quarters. One of two Americans in the last 8.

Simon Carr from Ireland lost in three sets, in R3, however.

Argentina also have two lads in the last 8. And one girl. (With Del Po and Schwartzman, too, they're having a very nice event)

The girl who beat Em is also in the last 8. As well as 13 year-old Coco.

Coco is now in the semi finals-straight sets again.

Danny Thomas who beat George, got thumped in the boys quarters

13 yo Cori Gauff matches into the SF with a 6-3 6-2 win over Emily App's R1 conqueror, Katie Volynets.

So Court 5 is cleared for Emily App's doubles QF in partnership with Colombia's Emiliana Arango, through to the singles SF earlier.

Following all four women's singles semi finalists being from the USA, all four girls' semi finalists are from the Americas, two from the USA and one each from Argentina and Colombia.

QF: (6) Emily Appleton & Emiliana Arango (GBR/COL) lost to (1) Olga Danilova & Marta Kostyuk (SRB/UKR) 6-3 6-3

I'd missed that it had been switched to Court 17.

Amanda Anisimova (WTA 182) trounced young Coco in the girls' final, whilst the top 2 seeds contested the boys' event, with Yibing Wu ousting Wimbledon runner-up Axel Geller, becoming the first Chinese male junior grand slam champion - see www.itftennis.com/news/269930.aspx for details

Emily Appleton has slipped to 17th in the race for Chengdu, so won't make the Masters cut.
