George's win should be enough for him to crack the top 100 for the first time

Gemma continues her impressive run, dispatching the 8th seed with ease.

And is into the final

Her previous best result at G2 was R16, so that's a brilliant jump. And is going to be another big addition of points, after the QF at Roehampton.

SF: Gemma Heath (GBR) born 2001 v (8) Lisa Piccinetti (ITA) born 2000 6-2 6-3

One out of two in the boys semis. Don't yet have George's score but from Twitter.....

" JuniorTennisCoaching @JTC_Tennis

Congrats to George Loffhagen an excellent semi-final win. Through to final of G2 in Switzerland. Good luck tomorrow!"

(4) Jakub Paul (SUI) d. (1) Aidan McHugh 6-4 6-2
(5) George Loffhagen d. (3) Kaya Gore (TUR)

(4) Jakub Paul (SUI) v (5) George Loffhagen

There will be at least a part-Brit winner in the girls event as Gemma's opponent is Joanna Garland, who has a British father and plays occasionally on the British Tour

Girls F

Gemma Heath v (2) Joanna Garland (TPE)

Thanks for that, David - I'd forgotten the 'Joanna Garland' posts that went back and forth - and it's always good to keep an eye on our half-Brits coz you never know......

and George's score has now come up as 6-3 6-0 which is pretty conclusive....

anther big jump up the rankings.....

As far as I can see George's 75 ( net 55 ) points so far will move him ahead of Jack Draper ( currently JWR 85 ) to be our top ranked 2001 born.

Both should be in the top half dozen or so 2001 borns worldwide.

With presumably Anton Matus. right on their heels too....

What is curious is that (from what I've seen) the three of them are all quite different players: different physiques, different styles, different levels of polish and finesse..... It's rather like, whatever your personal preference, we've got a player to suit.

It'll be interesting to see where they all are in a couple of years time (not to mention 10 years time).

Yes very good looking progress as it is by these three 2001 borns, a couple of years down the line will be so very much more significant.

I'd like to think that though still junior eligible they will be making at least some progress in seniors.
