Wimbledon Wildcards - Men

twitter.com/DanEvansFanPage is just that - a fan page. Usually posts scores during matches as well as other information about Dan.

Yes...so he is still getting some media from that which is (probably) safer than him having his own account. I didn't say it was him!!

Has to be a MDWC for Dan in my opinion. With Andy still out (presumably) I believe Evo is our best player on grass, and hes certainly in the best form of the potential WC candidates. Forget what happened before - from a pure tennis perspective its a no-brainer.

I'm certain Evo will get a wildcard of some sort for Wimbledon.

With Queens playing out, my feeling now on Wildcards is probably:

MD - Liam, Jay, Evo and Wardy. No other Brits unless someone comes through with a major week in Ilkley, but cant see it. Where the other 4 come from? Maybe one from Ilkley if someone goes deep from outside the current qualifiers. I reckon 3 or 4 won't be filled.

QWC - Alex Ward, Ed Corrie (cos he is getting them everywhere else!) , Lloyd Glasspool. One or more of George Loffhagen, Aiden Mchugh, Jack Draper, if they get a decent performance at Ilkley. That is it, rest will all come from Play off, I reckon they will leave it to see who performs there.

Could easily be wrong of course!

I expect they may award main draw wcs to the winner of ilkley if they are not rankes high enough. Also was de minuar rankes high enough to makr main draw automatically. Final of Surbiton and playing the final of Nottingham. ..

good point Re de minaur - he's currently two off the main draw cut so could get in but currently would need a wild card. His form so far justifies one plus his profile is quite high, and I also note he's not playing anywhere this week. He would certainly deserve one.

Well done to the Wimbledon committee for penalising all the players in the wildcard playoff for not giving Evo a WC at all.

Very poor decision!!

Don't understand why they'd leave him waiting, what else has he got to prove? The results he's had speak for themselves.

baffling decision. though he would automatically have a qwc at the very least on ranking alone

Well, he's not getting a QWC - there are none left to give (bar the play-offs)

Surely the MD one is coming ????

THe committee have really gone for the youngsters in the Q wildcards.

Aidan and George I expected, but didn't think they'd also go for Jack and Anton. (Maybe internal pressure for Jack and therefore Anton had to have one too?)

Mind you, they've got a point - none of the older ones really stepped up and made a claim for a wildcard and many were given the chance (i.e. Lloyd, Ed etc) by having wildcards in the lead events.

well Stuart Fraser on twitter made it sound like he was almost certainly going into the play-offs, though maybe he just had his wires crossed

Joe & Freddie have doubles main draw WCs!    Others go to Luke & Jonny, Liam & Scott, Jay & Cam, Alex Bolt & Lleyton Hewitt & Jürgen Melzer & Daniel Nestor (why?  Sentimental reasons?).  Two more have still to be announced.
