Very, very disappointing that the LTA chose such a small venue for a tie like this.

Try booking.com which lists hotels, b&b's, hostels and apartments and had hotels from £110 for 4 nights when I looked last night.  You get what you pay for .....

Yes, that was my first thought (apart from "oh well, at least it's not Braehead"!) - maybe they're worried about the headlines if they pick a bigger venue then fail to fill it, but I thought they'd go for a venue with a capacity of at least 10000.

Yes, I thought they would go for quite a bit higher capacity than that. Especially markeded decently could surely fill much more than that.

Re Steven's possibly correct speculation, that would be rather sad. The Roger Draper regime was infamous for being seemingly overconcerned with headlines as opposed to just doing the right thing.

Just a wee reminder that there's a group booking being organised by the AndyMurrayFanForum.
We will be able to reserve seats AHEAD of the 'priority' on-sale date of 18th November.
So, if you'd like to join us (and 'cos we owe BT.com a debt of gratitude from 3years ago!) please post your name on here or go and look at the thread here.  We get group prices which are about 10% less than the normal ones.

There are many more suitable venue's this side of the border but Andy Murray will have wanted a Scottish venue so Leon Smith will have insisted ! The LTA wont risk going against Leon Smith for fear of losing Murray - an uncomfortable dynamic to say the least !

I was disappointed about the venue, sizewise, and given the Davis Cup had anyway been many times in Scotland, specifically Glasgow.

Otherwise that's an interesting lot of speculation. But, hey, this forum abounds, generally positively, with speculation.

Can Klein play or not?

I presume Klein can play.

However, although he has been showing some pretty good recent form, purely on playing level, I'd expect Andy ( clearly :) ), James, Kyle and Liam to be ahead of him for singles and we're still not short of doubles candidates.

So, I don't see it. But the tie is still some way off.

I'd give you 1000/1 about the chances of Klein playing, and feel pretty safe about keeping that money.
He wouldn't even be in my top 10.
