Week 10 - Great Britain F7 ($10,000) - Preston (Hard)

Dave Rice (likely to be the top seed), Ashley Hewitt, Liam Broady, Tom Farquharson, Josh Milton, Neil Pauffley, Luke Bambridge and Josh Ward-Hibbert are all main draw DAs here.

Judging by who is in qualifying (See the link below), the top 8 Brits on the qualifying list at the freeze deadline (Coupland, Norrie, Carpenter, Carter, Martin, O'Mara, Malik & Meehan) must have either scraped into the main draw late, got main draw wild cards or be late withdrawals!

http://www.lta.org.uk/NewWebsite/LTA/Documents/Fans%20News%20and%20Major%20Events/Results/2014/Preston/Men's%20singles%20qualifying.pdf

There are 18 Brits in qualifying, of whom just 2 are seeded to qualify - (q5) George Morgan and (q7) Sam Hutt. Seeds 13-16 are Brits too.

Jonny O'Mara: " A lot of withdrawals in Preston sneaks me into main draw. I'm not complaining! #morepractice"

That suggests 2 SEs cleared and 4 withdrawals - wonder how they split between Brits and non-Brits ...

At a guess Josh M may have withdrawn injured, Tom F is also still not 100% fit and may have withdrawn.

Looks like Harry made the main draw, lets hope he gets a good draw as I want to watch him again and I'm down Wednesday.

I was planning to go down tomorrow(expecting to see Harry), but quails looks very weak and i've seen most of the GB players at Wirral. I'll decide in the morning.

PS I see Thomas Schoorel entered qualifying without pre-entry and will be top seed when he qualifies as he is WR 196 at present.

I see that there are four players currently jointly WR 1468.

As Steven said, Robbie Ridout and David Porter achieved CH wins against two of them. What's James Keighley's excuse ?!

Actually he looks to have been fairly close to helping achieve a remarkable hattrick.

Very poor doubles entry numbers - I see Liam has paired up with Bambo this week.

Someone had to draw late entrant and top seed Schoorel - Poor old Bambo got the short straw.

Otherwise not too bad a draw for the GB boys- JWH gets another seed in Liam, which is winnable.

Tom F is in the main draw, but no sign of Josh M or Neil P or last week's runner up Kontinen.

Luke's brave fight comes to an end, but a very creditable performance against former top 100 player Schoorel, who wins 6-3 7-5

Jonny will serve for the 2nd set again at 6-5, but the last 4 games have all gone against the serve.
