Naomi will need to improve a lot to defeat the in form Cornet.

Naomi missed a seeding by just one place. It's a bit ridiculous that Cornet is still playing Juniors, given her obvious talents. She turns 17 in two days time...

It's interesting to note that the seedings are not totally based on Junior rankings.

Yung-Jan Chan is ranked 54, but she is seeded second because she is 75 in women's. Same with Paszek, who is seeded fifth.

Why doesn't Naomi get a seeding ahead of people like Zsilinska (ranked 1401) then?

Because she's not inside the top 300.

Can't quite get the point of this going to Australia lark.

Cost = phenomenal. £1,000 return flight for self plus coach. Living costs say £150 per day for about 4 weeks = another £4,000. So you're looking at maybe £6,000 all in.

I can see the point if you are a serious contender to win, and it doesn't matter too much what sort of draw you get. But I would guess that both Naomi and Jade are odds on to go out in the first round.

Anyone ever heard of cost/benefit analysis?

Jade took the first 6-4 but was 2-5 0-15 down while serving in the second when the rain started.

Cavaday's match hasn't started.
