Great set of results for Sarah Especially the win over Szatmari who made several 25K finals in 2006.
She has a good chance of beating Andrieux who got hammered 1 and 2 by Cirstea last week and has lost her last 4 matches. Her 2006 highlights were four 25K quarters and a semi.
Tough draw for Sarah B, she'll have to be on top form to beat Cirstea (who's 16). Cirstea is a qualifier and only ranked 350 but she's the world no 10 in the juniors and shot up the senior rankings in 2006, making a 25k semi + three 10K finals. She beat Mel South 4 and 3 in the autumn.
Looking at Sarah Coles' ITF profile, she had some really good results in the first half of 2006 which pushed her up to the top 350 but since then her progress seems to have stalled Has anyone here seen her play before ?
Tough rd2 match for Sarah. She's played Parmentier once before, back in 2005 in a 25K. Sarah won 6-2, 7-6[1] that day. Since then, the 20 year old Frenchwoman has made big progress, currently ranked 188. Last week in Tampa she made rd2 before losing in straights to a Lithuanian lass ranked 282. In rd1 here she beat former top 75 player Alina Jidkova (returning from a long-term injury) in straights. Parmentier played 2 Brits in 2006, beating Amanda Keen but losing to Claire Peterzan
Has anyone here seen her play before ?
Hopefully Sarah is finally over the shoulder problems which curtailed her form and her season last year!
