RE: Andy's competitors Weeks 3 and 4: Aussie Open

Safin bagels Sela in the fifth. He overtakes Soderling.

All the others are still rained off.  Baghdatis is due on next at the Rod Laver.  They're playing the last scheduled match on the Vodafone, so maybe they'll move matches over to there.

Outside courts have started playing.

My pins aren't working too great at the moment as they're only half-hearted. The people being played are all Tim or Boggo's competitors and they have no chance of more points this week so they take precedent. But, I will see what I can do to make them more effective.

Monfils has let Baghdatis back in: 7-6 6-2 2-6 still, he's still a set up on him

Unfortunately the other competitors all made it through today:
Robredo beat Meltzer 6-1 6-3 6-3
Ancic beat Garcia-Lopez 3-6 7-5 6-2 6-2

And after all this, Monfils is 3-0 30-0 up in the 4th set, on Baghdatis' serve

Gael leads 2 sets to 1, 5 games to Love, 30 all on Baghdatis' serve. We could have a bagel situation, seed out situation.

Edit: YES Gael wins it 7-6 6-2 2-6 6-0

Baghdatis is out now, good for Andy, bad for me in the prediction competition. Ah well.

Table updated.  Robredo overtakes Roddick again. Baghdatis  joins JCF on the plane home.

A win tomorrow will take Andy back past Ferrer.

Would be nice to see the back of Niminen, Hewitt, Berdych & Haas

Ferrer and Gasquet both going out in their next matches would be very nice too.

At least the pins worked on Baghdatis.

Andy leapfrogs back over Ferrer to WR14

Nieminen finally feels the pins and goes out to Chela

Unfortunately, Hewitt also won and overtakes Nieminen and Stepanek.

Tursunov overtakes Baghdatis to knock him out of the top 20

Nalbandian wins as well.

Gonzalez is 1 set up and a break down() against Del Potro.
