Still they are missing a good chance to meet me

And given the stories Delgado has told, that's definately a must for any red-blooded tennis pro....

Bloomers and Boggo are the two Brits going  Nathi, so you'll get a good chance to meet them.  Bloomers is playing qualies.

Actually Bloomers has a direct entry here. He needs to win a round or two here as he has a lot to defend after a few weeks.

No Brits in qualifying here, cut was 679 so players such as Lee Childs, Morgan Philips, Ian Flanagan (is Poland easier to find than India?!? Lol), Matt Smith and Tom Rushby (who hasn't been around for a while) would have made qualifying if they had made the trip.

No Brits in qualifying at Burnie or Bergamo either. The cut at Bergamo was 625 so only Childs and Philips would have made it here, but there were byes in qualifying at Burnie so any Brits with a world ranking would have made it into qualifying here (where incidently the 8th seed is Australian Matt Ebden ranked at a lofty 810 in the world!!)

Jamie Baker is currently 4th alternative for the main draw at Dallas so hopefully he will make it and conserve his energy for another run deep into a challenger, otherwise likely to be top seed. Not sure who else we're expecting to turn up here...Goodall and Mackin have made the main draw, Aucks is still in doubles elsewhere so won't make it without a surprise MD WC, Jamie Murray is apparently playing doubles here so would more than likely play singles qualies if the cut was low enough (he maybe has enough clout to get a qualies WC?!?), we'll see tomorrow morning.

Unlikely to be anyone trying for Florianopolis on the clay in Brazil (unless Myles Blake stays in South America and scrapes in).

So, Boggo meets second seed Rainer Schuettler.  Should have a decent chance, do you think, Schuettler is not the force he once was?  And Bloomers gets a qualifier. . .

I wonder if Rushby's injured, he won the British tour event in week 1 and then reached rd2 of the Sheffield 15K a week later but hasn't played since Sunderland

I think the Brits ranked 400-600 probably decided that even though they'd make the qualifying cut, they'd be unlikely to qualify and gain any pts. There's a British tour event this week so the likes of Rushby, Flanagan and Childs will probably be playing that as a warm-up for the Barnstaple 15K next week.

Shame that none of the Brits went for Burnie. A real opportunity for some easy points missed there.

Blake's playing in Mexico City with Mozart, Connolly and Seator.

Lucky Boggo

Delgado tells tales of passion, the legendary Nathi hugs and true Polish hospitality
