QR3: Miles Kasiri WR 1330 v (q16) Alexander Clayton (USA) WR 1055
A very good start for Miles, winning two matches for the loss of just three games , but now it starts getting tougher. We all believe Miles is good enough to be a top 1000 player, so it would be very disappointing if he didn't beat Clayton, but there are four rounds of qualifying here and the last would probably be against a player in the top 600. Then of course, even if he qualifies, he still has to win a fifth match to actually get a point! Should have gone to Guatemala!
Miles is 1st on court at 15.00 GMT on Sunday.

He'd have had a great chance of playing late into the week in Guatemala.
Hopefully USA Futures is a bit like Spanish. He's playing quality week in and out which will gibve him better grounding. Maybe a good idea to play 2 or 3 mickey mouse fututres to get his ranking up a bit though.
That's a disappointing loss for Kasiri, as steven said, I'd have expected him to beat Clayton. However, he must still be pretty rusty having been out for so long with injuries. After two really close sets in the heat, maybe Kasiri was struggling fitness-wise and the more match-tight player came through.
I think the reason why he didn't go to Guatemala is probably financially related. Miles won't have that much dosh at the moment and so he probably can't afford to be heading off round South America, he's based in Florida so he's taking advantage of all the futures in that area this month.
US futures are really, really tough though, Loads of college players who are unranked or have rankings in the 1000s but their playing strength is much, much higher, they just haven't played enough ITF tournaments. Clayton could be one of those guys.
