RE: Aussie Open (weeks 3 and 4) Competitors and Rankings - Boggo to Mackin!

In La Serena, last night:

Greg  continues his charmed life: both Armando and Vagnozzi lost, so he's safe at WR194 for another day.

Dutra -Silva and Garcia play tonight, but won't overtake unless they reaches the semis.

Richard drops a place as Eitzinger advances past him. Cuevas  lost though.  Richard's down one to 216.

Zabalata plays tonight, and can overtake if he makes the semis.

Josh  wasn't threatened last night, but Eitzinger moves into range, and Garcia will overtake if he wins tonight.

Alan must worry about Fognini,  who could overtake tonight. Jonnny's safe from Gonzalez, who plays tonight, unless he makes the semis.

Smeets, the last threat to all of the above at the AO went out to Berdych overnight

As for Boggo, well,  Wawrinka has just put away Capdeville in straight sets at the AO, so he's safe there. Kuznetsov  also went out tonight, so there's no one left in Melbourne to threaten him

In La Serena, Pashanski advances. He'll overtake if he makes the final. No- one else can overtake this week.

Fognini overtakes Alan, who drops to 241.

He and Jonny are also threatened by Brzezicki, who advanced today. He'll overtake them both if he reaches the final.

Greg's charmed life continues: his latest nearest threat, Dutra- Silva goes out

Unfortunately, Josh is not having anywhere near as good a run. Last night, Garcia overtook, and is Greg's next threat tonight.  Eitzinger can overtake Josh if he wins.

Richard has to watch out for Zabalata and Fognini who play each other tonight. Zab will overtake. Fog will go level on points. Vamos Foggy!

Boggo saw Arthursgo out ahead of him. Pashanski plays Daniel tonight.

Testing the new editor:

In Courier: A table

   234   888      777

Poor old Josh.    It seems that all you need to do to win a match in La Serena is to be about to overtake Mr Goodall.

Eitzinger knocks out the top remaining seed, and overtakes Josh. Josh drops to WR208.

Pashanski  is also knocked out. So Boggo is safe until next week

Greg's charmed life continues.  The latest to get knocked out before overtaking him is Garcia.

Richard is overtaken by Zabalata ,  and drops to WR217 (down 1 on the week)

Fognini also goes out, behind Richard.  Brzezicki moves to just 3 points behind Jonny.

Zabalata becomes the latest player to be about to overtake Josh, if he beats Eitzinger tonight. As Eitzinger would overtake Greg if he won, I think this is the surest bet in tennis

Brzezicki  plays Daniel tonight, and will go past jonny & Alan if he wins

As predicted: Greg stays safe. Josh loses a place Zabaleta beats  Eitzinger.

He plays Brzezicki tonight. Zab would overtake Greg if he won, Brz would overtake Richard.....

Brzezicki shoots past Alan and Jonny

Josh down to WR209 (down 4 on the week) Alan down to 242 (up 28) Jonny down to 246 (up 7)

Echagary threatens Jonny, if he wins the USA futures.

Just realised that Coria  was defending 75 points from the AO last year: means he drops behind Boggo.

Edit: Moodie was defending 35 points, and also drops behind Alex:  That brings Alex back into the top 140.

Edit 2: finally good news for Josh: Luczak was defending 75 points, and drops behind Greg & Josh. So Greg's level  on the week! and Josh only down 3

Edit 3: But Tsonga's 18th score is a 0, so his first round 5 at the AO takes him past Josh, and so Josh is down 4 again.

Edit 4: Tourte was defending points from Germany F2 last year, so didn't get past Richard.

Greg's forcefield failed at the last: Zabaleta won the La Serena Challenger and overtakes him, getting an SE into the Santiago challenger this week.

Echagary won the USA F2 Futures. So he'll overtake Jonny in week 5 (Futures points get added a week later than other points)
