He must have been injured, surely, to lose serve to this guy 5 times.
Though actually it looks like 67 (!) unforced errors were his undoing.
Yeah, the shoulder must have still been a problem. Hope that he hasn't injured it more through playing such a long match.
Basically it looks like Ebden was just pretty consistent, didn't make too many errors and that was good enough
I wonder whether Richard suffered from lack of match practise on the courts like last year ? He didn't fly to Melbourne till late last week due to his shoulder. I know Boggo and Mackin have spent a similar amount of time in Oz but at least they spent the winter in Saddlebrooks and so are used to the heat and have been training on similar style courts, while Bloomers spent the winter training on indoor acrylic in GB.
great for alan, big shame for rich, but if hisshoulder was hurting he wouldnt have made it through to be honest. lets hope he hasnt made anyhting worse by fighting on.

We have 3/6 through so far which is pretty good, compared to 0/6 at this point last year. Lets hope that Bogman and Marray can make it through so we get 5/8 in rd2
Who's Greg Jones ? Aussie wc I presume ? He's done really well from the looks of things. However, he's serving at 5-6 and it looks as though Bolleli is tightening the screw - 0-30
