Yes, I wonder if Jonny had many set points. As you say, gutting that he couldn't take the 2nd, but it looks like you could hardly ask for much more fight - especially with a still sore shoulder!
He must be so frustrated though - if he'd managed to win the set, it would have been a blow to the young Croat's confidence and I'd have fancied Jonny to win the 3rd.

Dont think anyone can question jonny's fight, heart or performance, just probably beaten by a better player on the day, it was desperately close, and Jonny didnt give the game away from what we can tell from the stats he just couldnt quite win that 2nd.
It certainly would have been a test of Cilic though you have to say he seems to have handled the pressure well although his error count did go up towards the end of the game.
Gutted going to try and get a few minutes sleep before the ankle biters WAKE UP though I dont think there's much chance.
Alan Mackin infamously has a 0-10 record in ATP level main draw matches, though he came closest to winning last time, when he took Baghdatis to 5 sets at Wimbledon last year.
(the ATP site says 1-14, which after taking out his 1-3 record in DC matches would mean 0-11 in ATP events, but I can only find 10 losses!)
The big question is, now that he's in such good form, will he get a draw that gives him a chance of breaking his duck?

Just checked - he's 14th or 15th in line for a LL place (out of 16!), which actually goes to show how well he did to get to the final qualifying round in the first place, and how stunningly well Alan did to qualify!
