Tursonov also a doubt......

You know with the amount of big players who are doubts or out I really wish Tim was there, BUT this could be a fantastic run for Andy Dare we dream?

i think doug is suggestign he has only just becoem aware of the fact.

rog has also had a small pop at the organiation as its so close to the start o the year ther are too many injuires, but he accepts that it is almost impossible to change as there are too mnay interested parties to make agree, and as a result i think the AO will contiune to suffer.

Well I think we could well get 3 out of 5 through the first round (which would be 3 more than last year!)

Bloomfield has got a dream draw, Boggo has a good h2h against Bastl, and Marray is up against a clay-court specialist. Anyone staying up to look at a scoreboard? (think I will save my energies until next week)

I'll be staying up for sure.
But I'll need to leave for uni at around 9:30 a.m. (4 a.m. GMT).

Yeah, last year was a little dire Did anyone actually win a set ?

I'll be staying up to follow Mel South (who's on first at 11pm I think) and watch a bit of Kooyong. Bogman, Bloomers and Marray are all on later - about 5.30 am our time I think, possibly a little later. Macca and Baker should still be on court come 5.30am too.

With temperatures soaring in Oz, about 36-37 degrees tomorrow, it will suit our guys to be on court a bit later.

Been speaking to Tiger today, apparently Jonny's shoulder is feeling quite a bit better which is good. John Lloyd is there and had dinner with all the players on Tuesday and so they're all feeling upbeat. Bladetiger says that a lot will depend on how Jonny's shoulder holds up on the serve, with the high bouncing courts, if he doesn't serve well then he'll be quite vulnerable to the lob and he doesn't want to be hitting smashes all day aswell as serves. Jonny hasn't seen Ghem play before but Jamie Murray played against him in doubles last year (Salinas challenger - Ecuador) so Jonny will ask him.

We both think that Mackin could cause an upset against Sanguinetti, the courts are perfect for his game.

Bladetiger feels that Boggo's draw is pretty tough considering that he's seeded 10th, would have hoped for better than that. I'm not too worried about Bastl but Berrer could be tricky - he's the sort of player that Alex has struggled against in the past. Bit of a hacker, very fast around the court and gets everything back and also has a big serve so it's difficult to get into his service games.

Baker will need to serve well if he's to trouble Moodie. Jamie's 2nd serve is probably his main weakness and Moodie will be all over that if given the chance and chip-charging. Aucks beat Moodie on a similar surface in Mumbai last autumn so there is hope.

josh pulled out, i am not sure if it was a sepcfic injury, but more likley burn out/fatigue as he played on late last year!

maybe he's taking a leaf out of alex's book who played late last year (05), missed the AO and won his 1st 2 events of the year.

especialy in the AO there is no point going if your body isnt up to it. its a hell of a long trip, and the conditions are tough.

Apparently he had a bad time in India (he played qualies in Chennai at the start of the year) and so he's decided to return home and prepare for Wrexham.

Bladetiger seems to think it's due to a lack of buggery in his youth, not exactly sure why !

As Count says, he could also be feeling the effects of a long 2006. 3 weeks break isn't much ! Matt Smith was burnt out at the start of 2006, tried to play through it but ended up with multiple injuries and didn't play much after April.

Okay...just got home from work....just checked in....early scores are coming in but they are ladies....hope no one minds if I post them here then the result on the ladies section.

Mel lost the first set 6-3 and was just broken at 5-5 in the second set....she had ad there...that is a blow.  Now she is down 5-6 and has to break to stay in this.

Anna started with a break and got me all excited....but then she was broken.  She is now up 0-30.  Hopefully she will break and then hold.  I am excited that both of these matches are close so far as I kinda expected worse.

No British men have been on court yet.
