Morgan Phillips should be in the main draw here, so there's still some British interest in this tournament.

R1: Morgan Phillips WR 609 v Murad Inoyatov (UZB) WR 597
On Monday, Morgan is 3rd on Court 2 not before 11.30 GMT. He has not played Inoyatov before, but partnered him to a R1 doubles loss in Portugal last October. Inoyatov lost 4 & 4 to Big Arv a couple of years ago.

R1: Morgan Phillips WR 611 beat Murad Inoyatov (UZB) WR 599 by 2 & 2
R2: Morgan Phillips WR 611 v (5) Tony Holzinger (GER) WR 419 or (Q) Tristan Meniane (FRA) WR 615
A very convincing win for Morgan to start the year - he did better against Inoyatov than Big Arv did a couple of years ago and he's the first Brit to get a ranking point this week. Unfortunately, he lost two Spanish Futures QFs in straight sets to Holzinger last year, though there was one 7-5 set in each, meaning that there may be some hope for him ...

R2: Morgan Phillips WR 611 beat (5) Tony Holzinger (GER) WR 419 by 7-5 7-6(7)
QF: Morgan Phillips WR 611 v Miguel-Angel Lopez-Jaen (ESP) WR 511
Well, Morgan may have lost to Holzinger in straight sets twice last year, but his excellent week continued today as he was the one who won in straight sets, holding his nerve to take the 2nd set tiebreak 9-7. :)
Morgan is 1st on Court 2 on Thursday at 10.00 GMT. Lopez-Jaen had a much easier time than Morgan in R2, winning 3-0 ret. against a player who had beaten the no. 1 seed in R1. Morgan won a very tight match against him 7-6(9) 7-5 last year, but then lost to him 3 & 2 a few weeks later.

Morgan is 22, but he's been coming up the hard way, through Spanish Futures, so if he does ever make it to the top 300, expect him to speed through the 300-200 range like most of the Spaniards do (and unlike all the Brits!)

Morgan may be 22 years old already, but it seems like he is a really late developer. He had to wait till he was 19 for his first ranking point but has improved fast since then.
