People on the same number of points are separated firstly by the number of mandatory points (points from Masters and Grandslams), the player with the most going above the other player. If that fails to separate a tie, the player who has amassed his total from the fewest number of tournaments goes above.
Hope that clears it up, though I'm basically just saying that Grundon is correct.
