I'm going to have to take a week off and read it without any human contact. I couldn't bear it if someone told me what happened.

I went to see some of Order of the Phoenix being filmed. My sister has worked on films with David Yates the director and he invited her to a bit of location filming at Virginia Water. There was a large party of international competition winners that had to sit and be quiet for the day but we were allowed into the tiny director's tent to watch the action on the director's monitor.

When you see the next movie and see a scene where the camera swoops over a bunch of grumpy school kids (Malfoy among them) and up towards Maggie Smith and Hagrid - I was there just behind the camera!

I'll queue up at night, buy it and read it at a go without food or sleep.

Interesting! I hate the movies, but will see it for sure. Will check out that scene with special interest.

What did your sister work on?

My sister works in the sound dept at Shepperton Studios. She's worked on a lot of films (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1698510/) but she's not credited on all the films she's worked on. I think she met David Yates while working on "Girl in the Cafe" when he was a relative unknown and they were all stoked when he got the Harry Potter job.

I occasionally get invited to post-production cast'n'crew film showings which are fun (I saw Gosford Park and AvP). She has a lot of celeb buddies (she's Kenneth Brannagh's personal projectionist some weekends). A pretty cool sister to have.

Don't understand the fascination with Potter really.

Give me Lewis or Tolkien any day!

Apparently Tolkiens son has finished his last book
