The field is one of the weakest ones in the whole year. There'll be loads of players ranked outside the top 100, plus WCs and qualifiers. Alex can reach the quarters with a bit of luck and maybe even more.
He needs to get two wins out here, or else he'll go back to 25K+H level once again.

Only 3 of the top 50 at Delray, whilst Zagreb has 13 of the top 50, for the same number of points.
Auckland plays top seed Santiago Giraldo in the first round. Mackin is the fourth seed and plays Scoville Jenkins in the first round. The other seed in his part is Fred Niemeyer of Canada.
Jenkins shouldn't be underestimated, but Mackin will be the favourite to come out of there, given the sort of form he is in. Giraldo won't be easy. He is a 19 year old ranked 173 in the world. He hardly plays outside clay courts, but qualified for ATP Chennai, defeated Stefan Koubek in the Bronx Challenger and reached the quarters of the Binghampton Challenger in three of his last four hard outings before the Australian Open.
Qualifiers can face - Sanguinetti, Alejandro Falla, Boggo or Lukasz Kubot.
No Goodall, so I'm assuming that he will reach the US next week. It'll give him some much needed rest.
i think a qualiferier making elim round will get some points, boggo making RR will also get points, but i think if blake or kendrick won 0 macthes in RR they not get points. so if u win one md match u will get some form of points, if u win none then nothing.

right i think this is it: for quafying: 5 points for wining the KO match 10 points. for winning a RR match 20 Points. If u win both RR matchs (and mae qf's) 40 points. then its as normal with 75, 120, 175.
so if boggo wins his ko, loses to blake and beats kendrick i think he gets 30 points, where as mackin in the same situation would get 35. it maybe 20 and 25, but i think its the higher amounts to reflect the extra matches played.

.....and if he beats Kendrick in 2, loses to Blake in 3, and Kendrick beats Blake in 2, then he goes on to the QF, and gets 40 points
