...................................Thanks for the scores, looks like Huss/Aucks have found their form after two close matches earlier in the week.

Who are they up against in the final?

Winners of - Lukasz KUBOT (POL)/Andrei PAVEL (ROM) vs Xavier MALISSE (BEL)/Hugo ARMANDO (USA)

to be decided about 2.00 am

An excellent result!  It looks like Auks has every chance of carving out a profitable career a doubles specialist. $5,650  is not bad for a week's work, and it'll be more if they win the final. I imagine their ranking will now be good enough to get direct entry into all small small events and grand slams (where the draw is so much bigger)  but what about the masters series events?  I have to say I dont follow doubles ranking closely.

I've just noticed that they will be playing Armando and Malisse in the final - Malisse is also in the singles final and plays against Blake. Lets hope for a bruising , three hour marathon with Blake winning in a tie breaker!

$5,650  - What many people do not realise is that in the USA the prize money is subject to 30% tax deduction (I expect it is for this event as I cannot find entry info) take away the cost of flights, transport etc. Also, getting this far in this event means little chance of getting to another event next week so it's not 'a weeks work' it's more like 2 or even 3 weeks work. - Good job this is a $400k event, just imagine how difficult it has been until now.
It's not bad but what I am trying to show is that James really needs to get into much bigger events and to win regularly to even support his new wife and a home.
So you can see why players like Arv, Martin etc give it a 'good go' but then have to drop out even when they are in the 200's, they basically make enough to continue to travel and play tennis but that's about all.
I hope James can make the breakthrough (line the Ryan's) but it is 'hard going' in doubles especially.
