Djokovic will be playing in the early hours of Saturday for us Brits - They're on after the first semi- final, which is "Not Before 13:30", so I'd guess 3pm in Adelaide, 5AM GMT. Pim- Pim & Vince meet at 11am Adelaide time (1AM GMT) - not much chance to recover before the semi.
Still, all voodoo hexes over Novak's way, please ladies!
Me too. I'm not at all keen on Djokovic (the way he bounces the ball a zillion times gets right on my nerves, let alone the suspect medical breaks at opportune moments) so it is no hardship to hope he loses
Novak, you really need to take 23 medical timeouts. This will so madden Chris that he will serve cannonballs. . .
I have heard vaguely of Guccione but certainly never seen him play; I gather he is a big server. The very best of luck to him (if I can support players I don't like on Andy's behalf I can certainly support somebody I know nothing against!)
Can't find the relative rule but in recent years the 14th seed (part of the 13-16 bracket) can face any of the top 4 seeds in the last 16 depending on the draw.
Well I don't see Novak not winning against someone who's name we have barely heard - after all his rise mirrors Andy's, and we wouldnt' expect him to loose against an unkown.
Still, for me it matters more that he's top 16 than whether he's 14 or 15. The difference in points between them remains so small that I can't be upset about the one less place in the ranking. Would be different if we're talking 1 & 2 of course...
Looking at the ATP rulebook (which only seems to apply for 96 draws, rather than a Grand Slam's 128 draw?), seeds 13, 14, 15 & 16 get drawn to play the R16 against one of the top 4. At random.
