Today sees Baghdatis play Soderling; Andy (of course) play Mirnyi, and Youzhny play Ljubicic.

Hmm - it all depends on Andy's result now: If he beats Mirnyi, then it'd be nice to get rid of Baghdatis and Ljubicic now, so that he's got an easier final should he beat Davydenko.

If he loses () then I guess we'd want to stop Soderling and Youzhny from catching up before the Aussie Open.

Unfortunately, Andy's on third, so the Youzhny and Baghdatis/Soderling matches would already be complete by the time we know what's best for Andy.

Threats etc update:

If Andy loses in the quarters: I might still cry depending on the scoreline and the opponent. He could then lose places to: Gasquet, if he reached the semis in Adelaide.
Best case: 17 (nc)
Worst case: 18 (-1)

If Andy loses in the semis: I won't cry. He would overtake Djokovic, providing he went out before the final of Adelaide. He could lose places to: Gasquet, if he reached the final in Adelaide.
Best case: 16 (+1)
Worst case: 18 (-1)

If Andy loses in the final: I'd be pretty happy. He would overtake Djokovic, unless Djokovic won in Adelaide. He would definitely overtake Nieminen and Ferrer. He could lose places to Gasquet if he won in Adelaide.
Best case: 14 (+3)
Worst case: 16 (+1)

If Andy wins in Doha: I'd be extremely happy. He would definitely overtake Djokovic, Nieminen and Ferrer. And could be overtaken by nobody.
Best case: 14 (+3)

So pins into Gasquet and Djokovic please. They are the only two who can affect Andy's ranking, other than Andy himself. Oh and the good news is I probably won't cry this week unless Andy loses really badly today
