They said WHAT !!!

New thread, post a quote here and guess who said it !

Here's a fairly easy one to start with:

Who said this:

"Shooting the guy who shot Bambi? I guess it feels better than shooting Bambi."

Here's a harder one:

"If the guy's an idiot he's an idiot. And I'm going to let him know that."

I've give you a clue, it was after a defeat at Wimbledon this year, and was talking about the umpire

Safin is closer than Blake but neither are right.

With a clue like that, it has to be the blogmeister. (In fact I wouldn't be suprised if he didn't end up dominating this thread)

Rob has it.

'twas after Tursunov was given a point penalty at something like 7 8 in the fifth because he hit a ball in anger. His press conference afterwards was entirely based on what an 'idiot' this umpire was! (He lost serve in that game and went on to lose the match)

"The good thing about him is that he doesn't do anything special but he wins most of his matches easily. That means that he's good."

LOL, was that the match against Nieminen when Nieminen chucked his racket into the crowd during the 5th set ??

Hmmmm, tough one. I agree with element, it's the sort of inane comment Barry Cowan regularly delights his Sky listeners with

For some reason I have a feeling it might be Boris Becker though, could be completely wrong

Yeah, that was the one. A truly bizarre(even for him) press conference from Dima though!
