The following is posted on Andy's official site today:
6 December, 2006
As you may or may not know, Andy is out in the US prior to Christmas, putting in some hard yards by all accounts.
Currently, he’s out in San Rafael, staying with Brad. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for Andy, one of Brad’s neighbours is five times Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson and they’ve been doing some running together. More on that in the next couple of days. Anyway, as if that wasn’t enough, Andy’s also been doing some more work with fitness trainer Mark Grabow.
So, where to next? Well he’s headed to Florida on Saturday to train at Nick Bollettieri’s academy. That’ll take him up close to Christmas, and my understanding is he’ll be coming back to Scotland for a few days to see friends and family before the slog starts again.
It sounds a pretty harsh regime, but when you speak to Andy about it you won’t hear him grumble. He wants the best platform possible for 2007, and that is exactly what he’s doing.
the thing is the players really have to work hard for the next few weeks as its really the ony time they can get a decent length of time in a single slot. so really have to work the fitness and strength training which is hard/risky during the season. and why its a good idea to go to the hotter climes, even the lta go to la manga (are they going this year? havent heard anyhting about it)

WELL WELL WELL, WELLETY WELLETY WELLETY. HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEWS FROM ANDY MURRAY .COM
THEY HAVE AN OFFICIAL FORUM FOR MURRAY SO I GUESS THAT BLOWS THIS ONE OUT OF THE WATER
OBVIOUSLY I WAS RIGHT WHEN I SAID ANDY WOULDNT LIKE THE FEW INDIVIDUALS ON HERE BE IT REDCABHEAD JOHN AND WHOEVER ELSE ACTED THE EJET
BUT UNLUCKY ULTIMATESHEDMAN YOU DID WELL AND KEEP IT UP BUT IN FUTURE GET RID OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED WHO ACT THE WAY THEY DO, HOPE I DONT SEE SOME OF YOU ON THE NEW FORUM WHERE THERE WONT BE TALK OF BOGGO AND OTHER SECOND RATE PLAYERS WHO ARE VERY POOR INDEED
Hmmm, with it being an "official" board and all, I reckon they may not put up with your antics as tolerantly as we did. Anyone up for some spread bettin on how long until yysb gets banned? I'll set the spread at 17-19 days.

Either way yybb wont be here again. David gave him 1 last chance not to be offensive...well hes blown it...all the best to the new board...but this is 'home' for me.
This is home for me too. I have been on the official messageboard a few times but it is quite frankly poor; full of Scottish-English wars for a start - I had enough of that on the Beeb. I have posted once or twice, mostly asking them to publish information about Andy's planned tournaments for next year - without success!
I don't know if yybb will get banned on there, there seems to be a good few like him there to be honest. I am amazed at some of the inflammatory posts which have never been deleted and think the mods on there must be asleep half the time.
Yesyesbadboy has now been banned, finally got fed up with his stupidity, we don't need it here.
Once again I apologise to all the members who received abuse from him.
I think that yybb will survive maybe 20 days on AM.com as they haven't sorted out their mods yet and they seem to take quite a while getting going with things. The new forum was promised 4 months ago However, if he continues like he did on here, I'd say 25 days max before a ban.
I don't think that the official site getting a messageboard will make the slightest bit of difference to this website as we're don't just follow Andy, we follow all of British tennis aswell so our community will only get bigger and better especially when the new British tennis frontpage [which will be interactive with this messageboard] is launched.
I've always found "unofficial" places to be better than official ones. Mostly because it takes some effort to find unofficial places. I'm not a big trawler of tennis messageboards but this easily blows the ones that I've found out of the water. Friendly knowledgable community who put a lot of effort into maintainance. What more can we ask?
To be honest, I like it here for the same reasons that yybb didn't. It's the best place I've found to follow the less well known british players. If I wanted to find out about Andy Murray then I can go to the BBC website, but I've never seen anywhere mention Daniel Cox or Jade Curtis or Josh Goodall until I came here.

Absolutely right! Andy is great but I can't get my full tennis fix from only following one player!
