Tricky draw for Ross, Zelenay is a top 300 player who has plummeted due to injury. I saw him stroll past Rbin Vik at Manchester the year before last he is a big guy who has a big serve. I think he got to the final at manchester if I'm not mistaken.
Jonny beat him in 3 sets at Bratislava, but if he's getting back to full fitness he'd be a tough opponent, obviously Bubka if he wins that is tough too!
No, the doubles (where they were no. 1 seeds) is not ok. Having had a bye in R1, they've had to w/d from their QF. Their prospective opponents, who had a w/o in R1 too (against Burzi, who w/d with an elbow injury, and the third Brit, Stera), will therefore reach the semis without playing a single game!
Next up for Josh:
R2: (1) Josh Goodall WR 245 v (Q) Daniel Lustig (CZE) WR 956
On Thursday, Josh is 2nd on Court 1 at about 11.30 GMT. Hopefully he's now recovered from last week and won't have much trouble seeing off Lustig.

I hope he manages to win the tournament, ending the year at 200 in the rankings would be a just reward for a great year...plus he's a Basingstoke lad which is just up the road from me.

Careful, I thought I recognised the name and Jan Kroslak is no 'ordinary' unranked player. This is the Jan Kroslak, now 32, who was ranked as high as 53 in the world and has a 3-0 career record against Tim Henman (DC 1995, Battersea 1999, Washington 1999), so he's got a thing about British serve volleyers. In fact, he has an 8-2 record against Brits in ATP events, only Greg and Petch having managed to beat him.
Of course, his heyday is long gone and he only plays a few tournaments a year these days in Slovakia, the Czech Repuiblic and other surrounding countries (plus Turkey, for some reason) and he hasn't had a good time of it the last couple of years. In 2005, he played Challenger qualifying twice and lost in QR1 each time and this year he did the same in June/July, and w/d from QR1 in the first event then retired during QR1 in the second.
Last week was the first time he had played since then, getting through qualifying and then losing a close match to Juska. This week, he went through qualifying again and then won his first main draw match at any level for four years. None of that should worry us too much, obviously, but his 3 & 2 thrashing of the no. 6 seed in R2 yesterday and the fact that he obviously once knew how to play a bit suggest that although Josh should certainly win, it might not be as easy as it looks.

LOL some people on MTF think every other match is 'bought'. Usually when they've just lost a bet on the match concerned. They ought to be careful, that's a pretty bad accusation and they could get sued for libel.
