Alternates: Ross Hutchins is fourth. Neil Bamford is eighth. Alex Slabinsky is sixteenth. Rob Searle is twenty third. Jim May is twenty eighth. Others present are Ross Connolly and Robert Dee.
There are two SE spots which most probably won't be claimed (and even if one spot is claimed, Lojda will surely get a WC and it would make no difference), so Hutchins has a good chance of getting in.
Unfortunately Hutch withdrew after the draw, no idea why.
His place went to fellow Brit Richard Stera, but his place in the draw went to the no. 17 seed, Syrewicz, who beat the player Ross would have faced in straight sets.
Stera slotted into Syrewicz's place and got stuffed in QR1:
QR1: (Alt) Richard Stera UNR lost to (q9) Christian Magg (AUT) WR 908 by 1 & 2
All in all, a rubbish day in Opava!

Seedings are based on the rankings as of the Monday before the tournament, where as lists are made two weeks before the tournament.
The first and second seeds were behind Ross in the rankings when the list was made, so Ross was first in line as a replacement for someone in the main draw.
Welcome to the site.
I'm sure that you'll love it here and contribute towards British tennis.
"Seedings are based on the rankings as of the Monday before the tournament, where as lists are made two weeks before the tournament."
I can see why they would want to use the most recent data available to decide the seedings, but why then use a different date for the entry list? For consistency it would seem (to me) to make more sense to use the same date for both. I would imagine that the 1st & 2nd seeds are fairly unimpressed by the situation! In this case a Brit has been advantaged by it, but the principal seems odd.
Oh, and thanks for the welcome! I've been reading the site for a while, but have only just registered. Unfortunately I'm not able to post much due to work pressures!
It wouldn't be fair to players to use the previous Monday rankings for entries into events because they would not be able to arrange their travels in time then.
For example, if a player enters two Futures during for a certain week...... He may buy flight tickets to a certain Futures and then realise that he isn't in the main draw of that one but has made the mains of another one instead. But by then it is too late to change and he will have to qualify where as he could play directly in the main draw somewhere else.
( From Steveg, and I'm dubious about the fact they've put d. instead of vs. after Josh's name.)
