i really think in future it should be split, maybe a combined juniors for both boys abnd girls, and have seprate seniors polls. that way everyone is competing at the same level as such and should be easier to judge.

Fair enough, but people like Dan and Stoop often get into these polls due to their achievements in the men's and women's games, so that's no way out of this.

I vote we stop having these votes at all, if they are going to cause so much fighting!

will we have a player of december?

if not assuming jonny takes this month maybe its possible to work out the monthly stats overall, ie who won most months etc, i think we did one about half way through. or maybe we should do a player of the year - with no bickering tho.

Oh dear, the hills are alive with the sound of bitching

*makes mental note not to put Cox and Marray together in the same poll again*

Having a separate juniors poll is an idea, however the problem will be that Cox will probably win every single month. I know that Greenleaf won't see that as a problem at all [] but it could get a little boring Part of the interest with these polls is because there are usually several different candidates per month and everyone has different views on who should win and why.

This month, although Cox did extremely well to get another ranking point and push players in the 400s and 500s so close, for me, it wasn't enough to compare with Boggo and Jonny's achievements. Starace is a pretty decent player indoors, he's in the top 75 and usually Jonny's autumn indoor season results are pretty disappointing, he also gave Tursunov a close match. No British player has done that well in a 125K+H for quite a while. If Cox had say, reached a 15K quarter-final as in Wrexham it would have been a tougher decision,

in future, how about having a separate juniors poll aswell as including juniors in the senior polls - it creates interesting debate [but no bickering please ]. Now that Greenleaf is posting quite a bit of info on the juniors progress it would make sense to have a poll for them aswell.

I'll do a player of the year poll after Czech Republic F5 as Josh Goodall will be a major contender and if he wins this week aswell it will give his case extra force. We could just add up the results from all previous polls [I'm pretty sure that Boggo would win] but it wouldn't be as much fun.

I might do a player of the month poll for December aswell though, there are quite a few juniors who've done well.

A Bog at Mons??

It was the last 125K+H before Dnepropetrovsk.

I'm sorry everyone. I'll put my handbag away now!!

Maybe we could post the players full monthly results in the poll question. May help all of us to be more objective!

From my point of view it's nothing to do with the fact that it's Jonny, I just thought someone said something silly so I said so, lets not get too precious about people disagreeing with each other, if we all just agreed wouldnt it be a boring board!

Sorry if I stated my case a bit more strongly than was entirely necessary but I am a passionate person!

Anyway no hard feelings from my point of view

Why is everyone so worried? From where I'm sitting, the player of the month poll has never been so much fun!

I find selecting Jonny ahead of Dan silly too, but that doesn't mean that I'll go ahead and start attacking you.

If we are going to be picked upon just because we voted for someone, then it's best that we don't have polls.

"Boring" boards are better than quarrels.

I think that this sums up the thread nicely:

VS

Doesn't look like a particularly even contest does it but however....this Tiger should beware as Pandas are bears and they can bite !!
