Aged 20 and ranked 649 with a best of 583 reached in Sep. In rd1 he beat a Georgian ranked in the 500s. 2006 highlights: Made a 10K final in Iran and two semis in Russian and Slovakia and a whole load of quarters.
Lost 1 and 3 to James Auckland in Bratislava. Shouldn't be too tough for Josh.
Zelenay and Stancik both got DAs, which means that any two of Slabba, Hutch and Bammy would have got DAs had they not withdrawn from the Alt list.
I realise Slabba might not have known he was going to get a DA until too late, but why on earth would Ross have withdrawn from the singles Alt list when he's playing doubles here anyway?
I can only think that Slabba had some problems with flights. He didn't play county cup at the weekend, he's not down on the Middlesex team list or results sheets. He was going to play qualifying if he didn't make the main draw cut
On Friday, Josh is 1st on Court 2 at 10.00 GMT. Sandbichler lost to Jonny Marray in Nottingham in September but beat Colin Fleming in Mexico earlier in the year.

Another really great win in rd2 for Josh, hopefully he can keep it going into the semis. Sandbichler will be tricky, he beat the dangerous Tobias Kamke in 3 sets in rd2 and won his rd2 match very comfortably. Although he's a clay-courter, he hits with loads of topspin and the courts in the Czech Republic are bouncier than the usual indoor courts as it's indoor rebound ace. He's a leftie and hasn't been higher than 538 [March this year].
Sandbichler's 2006 highlights: Won a futures in Poland on indoor carpet in Feb, made a 10k final on clay in Austria in the summer and made a 10k semi in the States a few weeks ago. Jonny Marray beat him in Nottingham in September - 7-6, 6-4.
Juska losing is a great boost for Josh. Chramosta is the seed left in that section, he gets consistently good results in indoor futures but I reckon Josh can beat him.
Doubles-wise: Josh and Ross Hutchjins got a bye through to today's quarters
He'll move up to about 236 in the rankings, 227 if he makes the final and 220 if he wins the title.
Chramosta has yet to drop a set, he beat Juska's conqueror 2 and 3 in the quarters. He's ranked 421 [reached 388 in Sep]. This year he's played mainly challenger qualies, in futures he's won 1 title, made a semi and 2 quarters and also a challenger quarter-final in Granby. He and Josh have never played.
