Jessica is playing in the Category 1 event in Moskow this week. Poelman, Jathan Malik and Liam Broady are there in the boys' draw.

Yep.

It'll be interesting to see if they extend their stay in North America by a bit and do the Grade A in Mexico. Given how weak the draw can be, Robson and the older Ren could make a real killing.

This thread makes a comeback!

Laura Robson's win in Santa Croce over Jessy Rompies (ITF no. 19, although badly overranked) will ensure that she gets into the top 100. She will be ranked 94ish or better, depending on further results. Although she is older than all of them, the next highest 1994 born girls are ranked 220, 227 and 235 which shows how well she is doing!

Jennifer, as we know, makes her WTA ranking debut at 1063.

Jessica still can't play ITFs full time because she has to save up, so she is doing a 14s Category 1 in the Czech Republic instead -

Next week, Jessica plays another Category 1 event, in Slovakia. Entry list - http://www.stz.sk/soubory/mm_acc_piestany_u14_girls_08.pdf

Speaking of 14s tennis, although this is not the right section, Liam Broady is probably one tournament away from becoming the number 1 in Europe!

Johanna Konta is also playing in that tournament as a GBR player. It totally re-organises our list of top juniors with Johanna as our new number 1, Jade Curtis as 2, Laura Robson now moving up to 3 and Tara Moore 4.

Yeah, but I am not sure if that has been formally approved by the ITF even now. They really are taking their time with it!

Jessica is toying with this field - she is in the final with scorelines of 62 63; 62 61; 63 63 (vs. the European no. 3) and 61 61. clap.gif

In the final, she plays Yulia Putinseva, 1995 born and ranked 5 in Europe. She already has a Category 1 title, so she must be a quality player.

Still no result. cry.gif

Today I came across Robson's profile on the Octagon site, which tells us some things we don't know.

"Lauras mum was a professional basketball player, while her brother is one of the best swimmers for his age in Australia. One of her cousins represents Australia in kayaking, another pulls on the Australian colours in hockey. Sporting success through-and-through."

Besides many other things - http://www.octagon-uk.com/content.aspx?menu=87

This probably means she already has an agent etc. I think it's a good thing.... Octagon also has Britain's best male prospect, for that matter.
