RE: British tennis frontpage for this site

The site should be ready to launch in a couple of days, just a few little things to sort out.

You can take a look at the homepage here:

http://www.freewebs.com/britishtennis/Home%20%2B%201.htm

Ignore where the images don't come up, there seems to be a problem with using imageshack to host them. I need to re-locate them to photobucket.

As I'll be away tomorrow, if anyone's able to do articles on the Baker, Bloomers, Evans finals and pm them to me that would be cool.  I know it's not launched yet but I thought it would be good to have a mini archive of recent new items on the site for when it does go live.

Looking good: hope you can find the time to keep up those news articles.  If not, I suggest you put up a headline and 1 sentence and a link to the forum thread...

Front page looking much better, although at the moment I am getting a lot of "image currently unavailable" messages. The links work though. That is the missing picture links, if the headings down the side are meant to be links none of them work for me. On the schedule page, most of this week's tournaments are in a white font on that bright yellow background and don't show up (yes, you guessed it, I am not keen on the yellow, to me over-bright colours look tacky unless in very small amounts). Profile pages seem fine.

I hope you see this as helpful criticism and not nit-picking!

Looks good.

You should begin "challengers" and "futures" with capital letters in the site description.

"We hope you enjoy using this site to find about more about British tennis, from ATP tournaments and Grand Slams to challengers, futures and junior tournaments."

The site will be launched later today.

Purchasing www.britishtennis.net  will cost 20 quid. Some members said that they'd be willing to contribute towards the cost of this - Mad and Rob I think. If you're still willing that would be really great, let me know.

Btw, I had an email from Roger Draper yesterday. I told him about the new site and he thinks it's great. He's going to get the guy who runs the LTA site to put a link to it in all their articles. He also gave me Nigel Sears' email, so I'll contact him today.

I've now purchased www.britishtennis.net.  It should start working in exactly 24 hours time.

wahey - we're on our way!!

- a few comments:

-The graphic is all smudged - I assume you're compressing it to save bandwidth?  - send me the original and I'll seeif I can photoshop it a bit better.

- the rankings page is showing a load of html tags in IE7.

- the schedules probably need to be divided between mens, womens and juniors - horizontal lines??

Rob, if I give you the username and password and the rankings files maybe you could update that and remove the tags ?

I'll send you the homepage file too. Btw, if you're going to improve the quality of those mini screenshots, please host the images in photobucket. Imageshack doesn't seem to work properly for them.

I'll have a look at sorting that on the schedules page

No problem whatsoever.  I was worried more about the banner than the mini screenshots: could you send me Drew's original graphic for that as well.  ta!

Isnt it closer to £10. Im pretty sure the value of the dollar has dropped loads in the past 12 or so months.
