RE: Eddie Herr International 2006.

Three brits out of the four u12s finalists. What great news for the future of british tennis.

Is this a top event where all the juniors or atleats most of the top juniors at the ages play here or just like an ATP event where some top players and other decent players are here?

Top event for 12&U for sure. One of the two best events along with Orange Bowl.

Take them to be like..... the Wimbledon and the US Open of 12 and under.

I suppose it's difficult to say for under 12s because there is no internation ranking for them. I seem to recall reading that the u18 tourney counts as a G1 event so would be taken pretty seriously by even the top-ranked juniors.

The 12&U and 14&U winners at Orange Bowl and Eddie Herr have often gone on to become household names....

Justine Henin-Hardenne, Juan Martin del Potro, Anna Kourinikova, Guillermo Coria, Tommy Haas, Shahar Peer, Paul- Henri Mathieu, Roberta Vinci and many more.

Doesn't mean that these British kids will become top 50 players or win Slams, but they can do it.

That's good news.

16&U Doubles:

No tension with the girlies final today. Both are British.

This pic seems too big, so won't post it here:

Laura Robson is seven months older than Jessica. This is where she currently trains:

Good heavens, Jessica is that good despite wearing specs? For a while I wore specs playing badminton and found them a great handicap - and that of course was all indoors, no problems with rain drizzle.

Gulping Gargoyles! Laura won 76 75.

Kudos to her. She will have a bright career, just like Jess will.
