None of the other U12s have got as far a Jessica without conceding at least 2 games in any sets. Which is nice...

12&U Doubles Results:

Robson/Bouchard are through to the quarters.
Jessica Ren/Kovalets are through to the quarters.

18&U singles:

Tara lost 76 64. The progress has slowed down a bit for Tara. Two years ago, she was defeating people like Tamaryn Hendler. Hendler has improved so much since then.

But I am pretty sure that she will be winning matches like these soon. We need to give her the time.

12&U Round of 16:

Laura Robson defeated seeded Michelle Dandik of Canada 64 61.

Jessica Ren defeated Yulia Valetova of Russia 62 60.

I think that we can have an all British final here. Laura reached the last 16 last year when she was just 11, so she must be one of the strongest players out there. It beats me how she isn't seeded.

Robson/Bouchard are through to the semis.
Jessica Ren/Kovalets are through to the semis.

Bad news - they face off.

12&U Mixed Doubles Results:

Whittaker/Gossea lost in the first round.
Jessica Ren/Broady won their first round match and are through to the last 16 by virtue of a no show.

14&U Doubles:

Heather Watson teams up with Annie Mulholland of the US.
Jennifer Ren teams up with Harriet Sheahan of Australia and they have a first round bye as they are the seventh seeds.

16&U Doubles:

Jennifer Smith teams up with Mariana Arana of Mexico.
Naomi Broady teams up with Joanna Zarur of Mexico.
Yasmin and Stephanie are the second seeds and have a first round bye.

18&U Doubles:

Jade teams up with Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea of Romania and they are the sixth seeds. They will need to make it to the finals to affect Jade's total, but I think that they can do it. Jade is awesome at doubles.
Tara teams up with Tamaryn Hendler of Belgium. Good team there!

Heather lost to the top seed in three sets. A good fight from her.
Jennifer Ren won 61 63 against Anastasia Kriz of Austria.

Seeds are done by the national associations in the U12s (or something like that). Since we didn't have many players in the draw, we only got 1 seed.

That explains it. Thank you.

We don't have many players at the Junior Orange Bowl either, so it's pretty unlikely that Laura will be seeded there.

I hope that she and Jess will be in different halves.

12&U Quarters:

Laura Robson dropped a set this time! She won 36 60 62 against Jacqueline Crawford of the US.

And this is getting really predictable.... Jess double bagelled Jessie Pegula of the US.

Come on girlies... win another match each and we will an all British final.

Wow - she's a bit better than most of the competition, isn't she!
