"I have never introduced myself and really should.
I am in Bozeman, Montana which is just lovely. It is a beautiful place year round. We get a lot of snow, but it is often sunny and very dry, which means that although it does get cold it does not feel cold. Before moving to Bozeman last October we lived in Redlands, CA and used to enjoy driving out to Indian Wells for three or four days of tennis each year. We used to do that before children and afterwards I'd take my son out. Tim Henman has signed a ball and a T-shirt for my son. Last year, Roger Fed and Kim C both signed my son's shirt on the same day and later both won the tourny.
I come from English stock. In fact, my maternal grandmother was killed in Crawley (near Gatwick Airport) during the Second World War. I also got my BA in England, although at an American College there.
I have been married for nearly 15 years and we have two children. My son is 6 and loves tennis, I also have a little girl who is three. My fav players have been Sampras, Todd Martin, Tim Henman and Greg. Since Andy won the US Juniors I have been following his amazing progress too. With my English roots and being tired of hearing about how long it has been since a Brit won Wimbledon I have really become interested in British Tennis. I have followed Henman since that great Summer of 96. What an amazing Summer, I felt for sure England would win Euro 96.
Oh, even though my wife is an American, we met in England and I asked her to marry me at Stamford Bridge in May 91. Chelsea had just beaten Liverpool 4-2! We were in the Shed. How cool, a wife who watches Chelsea with me and goes out to Indian Wells. My wife loves sports.
Doug, out of interest, are you the best sportsman in Bozeman ?
I was just wondering as there cant be many other sportsmen out there with your credentials - the undisputed pound-for-pound curveball champion of this site and one of the best curveballers in the world.
