"Hi I'm Alex, new user here and this site is absolutely fantastic. Everyone here seems so friendly and knowledgeable.
About me: I'm 16, in lower 6th and studying Double Maths, Physics and Music
I live in Herts and have followed Andy since the US Open juniors in Sep 2004 and seriously since the Davis Cup in March. I think he's a fabulous player and has the potential to be in the world's top 10 in a couple of years. My ambition is to see him play live. I play tennis to a reasonable standard - LTA rating: 8.2, play lots of inter-club singles matches against adults and juniors. I love singles but hate doubles.
Non tennis: I've got 7 exams in Jan, so am currently revising frantically. Luckily I will get to follow Andy in Adelaide before they start but won't be able to do the night-watch during the Aussie Open Apart from tennis, I play chess at county level for the adult and junior side. I also follow England in cricket, Manchester United in football and I earn money playing the trumpet at weddings and funerals. Apart from Andy, I follow all the Brits, Bogdanovic was my fav player before him, I also think the Scots Baker and Fleming have a chance of making it. Smith, Bloomfield and Slabinsky also look to have a good chance of making it too, 2006 could be a big year Apart from the Brits, I like Federer and Safin. Federer's game is the most asthetically pleasing and he has so many wow shots in his repetoire it's unbelievable and he's a fantastic athlete. Seems to have a rather dodgy backhand [noone seems to target it though ?] - he mi****s loads of them. Safin on form is so exciting to watch as he has so much power and flair and like Federer makes everything look so easy. He's so unpredictable on court too which makes for great viewing. On the women's side, Hantchukova's the best looking closely followed by Sharapova, Vaidisova, Dementiava and Mirza. I support Baltacha and hope she manages to find some consistency in her results but her confidence could take a battering after the Aussie Open ranking drop. Borwell and O'Brien are the immediate hopes for the future but neither seem to have enough power to break the top 100. Cavaday and Curtis will be carrying our hopes in around 3 years time.
