Boggo's points from winning the Sunderland Challenger drop off this week, sending him tumbling down the rankings to WR 140

Suddenly we're in a whole new set of competitors.

Berlocq and Hartfield are also defending big points from last year, so join him down here.

Not many in action this week, so if Alex does well in Shrewsbury, he should be able to claw back a lot of places.

the mainthreat is Russell,  who overtakes if he makes the quarters in Naples, and Alex loses in R1.

I've updated the table. Alex draws level with Portas, but doesn't overtake, as Portas played both Wimbledon & Roland Garros round 1, while Alex only has his wimbly wildcard.

With very little else to think about tonight, I've been through the permutations for alex's ranking this week:

If Alex Wins the Tournament He'll advance up to 121st - up 2. Norman can overtake if he makes the QF in Shrewsbury; Hartfield or  Bozoljac can overtake if they are finalists in Naples; Peya if he wins in Kawana, and  Russell if he wins in Naples.  A max of three can overtake, so worst case is WR 124th - down 1.

If Alex is a finalist: He'll advance up to 127th - down 4. Navarro-Pastor will overtake him if he's the other finalist in Shrewsbury; Bozoljac and Hartfield need to make the Naples semis; Peya needs the Kawana final, and  Russell must win in Naples. A max of four can overtake, so worst case is 131st - down 8.

If Alex makes the semis:  He'll get up to 128th. Navarro-Pastor will overtake him if he makes the quarters in Shrewsbury; Bozoljac and Hartfield need to make the Naples quarters; Peya needs the Kawana semis, Russell must be a finalist in Naples, and Berlocq  must win there. A max of five can overtake, so worst case is 133rd - down 10.

If Alex makes the quarters: He'll get up to 136th. Hartfield needs to make Naples R2;  Russell must be in the Naples semis, and Berlocq  must win there. A max of three can overtake, so worst case is 139th - down 16.

If Alex goes out to MacPopp:  He'll be at his current 139th. Russell can overtake if he makes the semis; Berlocq if he wins, so worst case is 141st - down 18.

The one constant here is Russell. The next big targets have to be Peya and Hartfield.

Get those voodoo dolls ready!

Edit: Edited after spotting Alex's extra point and after the Peya result last night.

Overnight, Peya won in Australia. Which moves him out of Boggo's reach unless he makes the semis. Best caseif he makes the quarters is now 136th.

Looks like today's the day for admitting to embarassing errors: I'd had Alex down as finishing last week on 373 points. It should have been 374 (I had him defending 6 rather than 5).

As a result, he's now on 329 rather than 328, which means he's climbed above Portas!!! and is WR 139.

- I'll update the permutations now.

Norman going out in shrewsbury means that Alex can overtake him if he wins the tournament. Bit of a way to go before that happens, though.

I think you're right: from the post on MTF, Economidis & Labadze are both out as well!

Still Marray, Goodall, Auckland & Macpopp to get past though!

The table's updated for today's Shrewsbury results: Berrer & Nav- Pas both win. neither advances.

Hartfield plays Fiorentino,  Russell plays Zeballos and Berlocq plays Witten tonight in Naples. Bozoljac's match against Garcia must have already taken place.

The table's updated.

Alex can no longer overtake Hartfield if he makes the QF in Shrewsbury.

Alex and both European competitors are playing today: Boggo vs MacPopp, Nav-Pas vs Juska and Berrer vs Bubka.

Berrer's won.

Dont suppose it matters too much now anyway, Boggo's going to be seeded for aus open qualies isnt he, and he wont make the MD so it's pretty immaterial, shame he didnt quite nip up the Aus Open MD territory.

Still the top 100 eludes him, hopefully not for much longer.

Hmm - 32 seeds for qualifying - from around 115 to 150. Boggo's worst case for this week is around 140th. Maui, Doha & Chennai to come........  he could be knocked out of the top 150 with a batch of freak events or, better, make it into the top 16 seedings - for which he needs to make sure he's in the top 130.....  still some work to do!

The table's updated for Shrewsbury's results: Boggo, Berrer, Navarro- Pastor and Zverev advance.

No -one is eliminated

Boggo advances to WR 137 level on points with Carlsen & Peya, but with less mandatory event points

Target number 1, Peya is first on court in Kawana in the early hours. he extends his lead if he beats Alun Jones.

Berlocq, Russell and Bozoljac aren't playing today. There's just target  number 3Hartfield playing Johnson Garcia.

Pins into Peya & Hartfield, folks!
