You beat me to it, easy to jump in as soon as someone loses a set, fella!

This guy is on his home tournament and just beat someone ranked #65 in first round, so it wasnt easy, how many close games did Jonny win in that 3rd set?

Too right...

Really fought through that set and to come out 6-1 when it was so closely fought shows a great mental approach.

Really well done to Jonny

Don't know how many points Jonny has coming off but should win 24 for reaching the QF's as a qualifier which would take him to around 270 in the world

I make it a round 140 points (121 - 5 from Helsinki last year + 21 for QF + 3 for qualifying), which would put him about 275.

Cool. Didn't know about the -5.

Its quite congested between 275 and about 225. With another win, he can really shoot up the rankings!

Around 275.

Just spoken to Jonny, passed on the congrats of this board. he was glad people had been bothering to follow it.

Said that Bubka is a big server so pretty tough to break. Jonny said that he felt he'd played really well, volleyed well. Got tentative on match point in the second set had a 2nd serve and didnt really commit to the shot, so disappointed with that but played really well in the third and really chuffed with the win.

If he can reach the semis he could make the top 250, if a few people lose a few points!
