I think seems to be a problem with Marray's game in that he struggles to finish off games he should be winning. He did it 2 and 3 years ago at Wimbledon in losing in 5 sets. He has done this in several other challengers, most recently last week against Storace. Is this a mental problem that maybe a course with Brad Gilbert can clear.
He has the ability to push for future brit no 3 behind Boggo and Andy fighting with Baker, Blooms and Josh, look at how he pushed Hewitt in Stella tournament few years back - just needs to finish off games.
yes I agree with you there. obviously crossing the winning line is always difficult but jonny seems to sometimes find it particularly tough - i remember those heartbreakers at wimbledon, especially those match points he wasted vs beck 3 years back!
whilst obvs its hard to tell just from a scoreboard, jonny seems to have definitely been the dominant player so far. he's had plenty of breakpoints, and got hit with a sucker punch in the last game of the 2nd set - the only chance bubka has had to be honest! and at the beginning of the 3rd, another comfortable hold!
anyway, lets hope he can break early and take this third set comfortably!
