ah i see.

well thats the only one he has a chance of being a DE for so i guess he should go for it, when the cut off? if it this week he might be ok.

the zagreb cut last year was outside the top 100 just, dont think he will make it MD there, but a good chance in the qualies.

Waske and Economidis  were knocked out in Ukraine. Galvani won in Finland

Kubot  is a set and 1:0 up (although may well have finished but no- one thought to tell the scorers)

....but he's facing Tursunov next, so if he wins that one, he deserves to go out of Boggo's reach

The table's updated for the European results.

Still waiting for Pashanski, De Voest and Bozoljac (and Delic, ahead) overnight. Stick those overnight pins in!

No threats went out overnight

de Voest, Bozoljac and Saretta and Mello (from off the bottom of the table) advance , as does  Delic ahead

Time for a pessimists post:

The threats are: Pashanski,  who needs to reach the semis in Ascuncion; de Voest and Bozoljac who need to reach the final in Champaign; Saretta, Mello & Berlocq who need to reach the final in Ascuncion. Saretta and Mello would meet in the QF, so a maximum of 5 can overtake, which would knock Alex down to 127th.

All play on the other side of the pond.

de Voest plays Bastl and Bozoljac plays Ram(Come on George & Rajeev!) in Champaign, while Delic plays Simmonds and  Kendrick plays Russell ahead of Alex.

Pashanski plays Schwank,Saretta plays Eizinger, Mello plays Silva, Berlocq plays Villagran in Ascuncion, while Hartfield plays Gil, ahead of Alex.

In this timeszone, Galvani plays a certain Josh Goodall.

So, all pins into Galvani  until Josh has wiped the carpet with him, then hit Pashanski  hard, saving a few pins for the others.

Sluiter has just got absolutely caned by Chiudinelli 62 61, he was defending 63 points this week, and his win over Boggo means he saved just 9 of them, dont know what his 18th best was but reckon that will drop him down to around 110 and onto this table. He is also defending quite a few points next week from the Prague tournament last year, so it could be that Boggo could even finish the year above his new adversary this year if Boggo can save all his sunderland points next week.

He's currently lying in 102nd, after losing the 63 points.  He'll drop into the table if 3 players overtake him: most likely are Kim, Kendrick & Delic. Hmm, not sure I want Boggo's nemesis to be just 15 places ahead, rather than in the 80s.......

That's it for the European interest.  Galvani (Edit: and not Saretta) beat Josh, and moves further from Alex's reach.

Josh was playing Galvani, not Saretta...

Does that make any difference???

Nope - it's Galvani I was thinking about. Why would I confuse those two??

Kendrick went out to Russell in Champaign, and that's pretty much that for the day's session.

Tonight, we've got Pashanski, de Voest, Bozoljac, SarettaMello, Berlocq, Delic  and Hartfield

The overnight results are up on the table.

It was a massacre of the seeds in Champaign Bozoljac and de Voest were both knocked out, only  Delic survived and advances.

In Ascuncion, however they all got through and advance (maybe there's an anti- voodoo thing going on in Paraguay?).Pashanski, Saretta, Mello and Berlocq all advance towards Alex's ranking., as did Hartfield ahead of Alex.

Lu wins in Australia and advances.

With the Champaign players out of the way, there's now just the four Ascuncion players who can overtake, meaning that the worst case is a further three place drop for Alex to 125

In Europe today, Kubot takes on Tursunov in Dnetpropetrovsk.

Then tonight, big shiny pins into: Pashanski who'll overtake if he beats Canas and  Berlocq, who takes on Hartfield.  Mello and Saretta play each other, no need to waste pins there.

Delic  will play Sa in Champaign; Lu'll  be playing Healy in Caloundra.

Overnight in Ascuncion, Pashanski, Mello and Hartfield  went out , but that means that both  Berlocq and Saretta won, and will overtake if they win their next matches.

- Worst case is that tomorrow morning, Alex is down to 124th.

Kubot goes out in Ukraine, while  Delic continues his incredible run of form in Champaign,  Lu wins in Caloundra, as does  Peya who advances onto the table.

Next up, the threats are Saretta who  plays Koellerer, and  Berlocq who plays Canas, who's now won his last 13 matches. Ahead, Galvani plays Berrer in Helsinki, Delic plays Ram, and  Lu  plays Peya.

Of course, Alex is defending 50 points from Sunderland next week, so will be dealing with a different set of competitors come Monday
