Rodina is playing way above her ranking. It'll be a real test for Anne.
With the new ranking schedule, getting into AO qualies would be a real plus for Amanda-lots of points to be won compared to other similar standard 25/50Ks. Finger's crossed for Amanda-she has had a really good year, hoping it can end well for her and she makes the cut.
Anne's guaranteed to move up to 151 [from 168] and if she wins the final, she'll move to 146.
A poster on GBTG says that her record in 25K finals is won 4, lost 4.
Kerber will be tough, she beat Anne 6-4, 6-0 in the semis of the Glasgow 25K in October on a similar surface. However, from the sound of things, Anne is playing a lot better this week.
Kerber is an 18 year old German leftie ranked 214. This year she's won three 25Ks indoors, beating Cavaday, Stoop, Mel South aswell as Anne. She's also made three 25K semis, on clay, indoor hard and outdoor hard. Katie O'Brien beat her on the way to winning in Madrid. At the end of October, she qualified for a WTA in Hasselt and won a round before losing to Ivanovic in 3 sets in rd2. This week, she's been on fire, beating the 2nd, 6th and 7th seeds in straight sets. The 2nd seed is ranked 108 !
More likely to be around 143 (did you remember to include last weeks semi final points that go on next week? Of course these points go on the same week as Poitiers go on so it could be even higher.
