Nice of you all to get different scores! Here's the ranking list so far:
5/10 imoen 4/10 Johnnylad 3/10 john 2/10 VSandhi
So far, 5 of the 6 players who are answers to Q1 have been mentioned at least once, but one hasn't been mentioned at all, while two of those six players have been mentioned by everyone who has had a go so far - no peeking back at other peoples' answers if you're about to have a go!
Q2-Q5 have had just 2 correct answers (out of 16) between them so far.

johnnylad wrote: Ok. If that was 4/10 I'll try again. Awesome second attempt! 3/10 this time!
The 3 are answers you got right last time too, but you substituted a wrong answer for a correct one. Still, you did only pick 5 players for Q1 this time,so with a 6th pick you might well have got back up to 4/10.
Still haven't looked anything up or checked anything!
Don't worry, I believe you!
However, best answer of the day has to be Amadeus for Q3 - he has a 20% record (7-35) - the only Brits with worse records who have played at least 12 matches this year are:
18.8% Mat Lowe 3-13 11.1% Tom Williams 2-16 0.0% Robert Dee 0-17
Please don't take offence at me having a little fun though - I'd have been lucky to get 6 or 7 out of 10 myself and Q3 is virtually impossible, I think.

Here's the first post in this quiz updated with figures for last week too, i.e. now up to 4 December. One or two of the questions have changed slightly, but the answers to each question number are the same as they were before. Changes are underlined.
The only player in the world to have played more than 100 matches this year up to 4 December was Michael Zverev with 105. Becker, Viloca and Fraile had all played 100 matches, while of the top players, the Undertaker was 7th with 98 (he had 96 last week, so these figures must include DC matches, though that doesn't help with any of the questions!) and Fed was 9th with 97 - W 92 L 5!
The most active Brit this year has been Josh Goodall, 28th with 89 matches, with at least one more this week (unless he's withdrawn knackered and that's why Hutch has got in!), while Andy is 281st with 65 matches - W 40 L 25.
My questions are:
1) Apart from Josh, which 6 other GB men have played more professional singles matches than Andy this year? (clue: they're all in the GB top 30)
2) Out of the Brits who have played more than 12 professional matches this year, which player had the highest win % in professional matches this year up to 4 December, with 64.6%? (clue: he's in the GB top 10)
3) Which Brit has the 2nd highest win % with 64.3% from 28 matches? (clue: he's not ranked in the top 1000, so we're talking lots of Futures qualifying wins and very few main draw wins here)
Josh has now taken over in GB 3rd place with 62.9% from 89 matches.
4) Which player has the 4th highest win % with 62.7% from 67 matches? (clue: he's just in the GB top 30)
5) Which player has the 5th highest win % with 61.5% from 65 matches? (clue: there's a big clue in the introduction to this quiz)
Have a guess at the answers without looking them up, based on which names you think have been cropping up in tournament results on here a lot, and I'll let you know how many you get right out of 10.
The record so far is held by imoen with 5/10, so there's plenty still to go for!
Further clues (based on wrong answers received so far):
- Q1: think about players who have been injured for extended periods this year and leave them out of your answer to Q1 - Q3: Boggo(!), Phillips and Ward are all well in the top 1000! - Q5: until I saw the first few replies, I didn't realise quite how many red herring clues I had put in the introduction!

I think it's between Dan and Richard Brooks. Dan wasn't successful in his earlier quests, so I'll go for Brooks.
Yes, brilliant answer it's Richard Brooks who is 64.3% (18-10) on the year. Dan isn't even close though, not even over 50% in fact - he's on 41.9% with 13-18.
I think we'll retire Q3! Want to have a go at the others, greenleaf?

Sorry that I was so tardy....work was crazy today.
But here are the answers:
I’ll give you a point if you can name his partner on that day: Mr. J Bates....most of you got that right. Tim played with Bates quite a bit but has played with many diff players. One player that he played with a lot was Andrew Richardson, remember him? He was a sure thing back in the day but never fulfilled the promise. He was classy though, once turning down an LTA W/C to that indoor London tourny in about 1997/98. Anyone know where Andrew ended up?
I’ll also give you a point each if you can name his opponents on that day: Mr. J. Tarango and a Henrik Holm. Henman also beat Holm in Davis Cup Singles, 1996.
I’ll also give you another point if you can name the Slam in which Tim has got the furthest in doubles, was it Wimbledon, French Open, Aussie Open or the US Open? This was the French! Shocked me.
I’ll also give you a fifth point if you can name Tim’s partner at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta when the British Team picked up a Silver Medal. Neil Broad who was originally from South Africa and not a bad singles player. In fact, go back and look at who Broad played during his singles career. He seemed to play so many coaches of today. He even played Mark Keil and lost to him.
That brings me to my next question. Mark Keil, a famous journeyman over here, had an amazing win one years at Queens. Which superstar shares the distinction with Neil Broad of having a 1-0 career losing record to Mark Keil?

Answering on the Greg Rusedski message board (the only person there who's dared to try so far!), Bladetiger takes the lead!
6/10 Bladetiger 5/10 imoen 4/10 Johnnylad 3/10 john 2/10 VSandhi
There's still one answer to Q1 that nobody has gone for yet and nobody has got Q2 right yet. Only Greenleaf has got Q3 right, but he hasn't tried the other questions yet.
I'll post the answers late tonight, so if anyone else wants to have a go, you've got about 12 hours. (the questions are 5 posts up)

Q1: The list, and how many (first) attempts included this player:
A Mackin (79 - 5/5) J Baker (76 - 2/4) L Childs (76 - 0/5) J Marray (75 - 2/5) R Bloomfield (70 - 5/5) J Ward (67 - 2/5)
Josh will now eand up having played at least 92 matches by the way - let's hope he doesn't suffer the same fate next year as Matt Smith did this year after playing nearly 100 matches last year.
For the record, the players with less matches than Andy but still 60 or over are:
64 - C Eaton (johnnylad included him on his 2nd attempt); 63 - E Seator (1/5 picked him), A Wright (2/5 picked him); 62 - D Brewer; 61 - A Slabinsky (1/5 picked him); 60 - R Connolly; R Irwin
Apart from Mackin and Bloomers, the two most popular answers were Boggo and Morgan Phillips. Boggo has only played 55 matches (remember that he was semi-injured towards the end of the first half of the year) and Morgan has played 58 - he's had a handful of good weeks but isn't really that consistent and in addition, he hasn't played at all for a few weeks now.
Q2: Believe it or not, the Brit with the best win % over more than 12 games this year is Alan Mackin! (0/5) The 'winner' here is always likely to be someone of Challenger standard who plays quite a few Futures. That's probably why Josh is so high up too - in fact he will overtake Richard if he reaches the Final in Opava this week and Alan if he wins the tournament.
Everyone went for Boggo here, who's 8th= with Marray in GB terms with 60.0%, 33-22. He plays in tougher tournaments, so that goes some way towards explaining it.
Q3: Richard Brooks (1/6), who nobody got until Greenleaf suggested him.
Q4: Chris Ward (2/5), whom johnnylad and Bladetiger got.
Morgan Phillips was the most popular guess (which didn't surprise me), but for the same reason as I mentioned above at the end of Q1, he's only 10th in GB terms on 58.6%, 34-24.
Q5: Andy Murray. (2/5) The clue was that I'd mentioned in the intro that "Andy is 281st with 65 matches - W 40 L 25" and Q5 asked who had got 61.5% from 65 matches. I seemed to inadvertently leave lots of red herring clues in there too! This is the answer that took imoen into the lead and also the answer that helped Bladetiger to overtake her.
For the record, the other players in the GB top 10 on win % who haven't already been mentioned above are Tigger in 6th on 60.8%, 31-20, Jamie Baker in 7th on 60.5%, 46-30 and Lee Childs in 9th on 59.2%, 45-31.
Thanks for having a go, I hope you found it interesting!
