hmm , thats a toughie, alex doesnt normally enter tournatments he would be overly high ranked at. he would have been no1 seed this year at one of the grass challengers but missed it cause of the DC, i cant belive any time b4 this year his ranking would have been high enough for a top seeding at challengers. i also think he stopped playing futures b4 he was really a top seed candidatde and didnt go back too much.
the thing is, i cant belive he can have gone on for so long without ever being top seed, for me its a low figure; 0 to 2, but not certain, i'll go for 1.
edit: i m glad you clarfied that this was to include the slams

I'll go for one too - that Future a couple of years back where he lost to a very low-ranked Monfils in the Final. I'm pretty sure he hasn't played in any Futures since then (though maybe he played in one or two more and was top seeded in those ... hmm) and I'm certain he's never been seeded 1 in a Challenger.

It's a vicously windy day in Eastbourne and Lindsay Davenport is up against Amelie Mauresmo in the final of the Hastings Direct. In the second set the French woman plays a weak volley which goes high in the air, bounces on Lindsay's side of the court and is then blown back over to her side by a sudden gust. Lindsay wastes no time in rushing the net. She leans over to Amelie's side and strikes the ball for a winner just before it bounces on the turf. What's the ruling?
Lol funny you should say that. I asked Drew the exact same question whilst we were sitting watching the Aberdeen Cup. He had no idea, so I suppose you can assume that I have no idea too.
However I will guess that Amelie wins the point.
The answer to the other question was 1 and a few people got it correct.
It was a futures event in Bournemouth in 2004.

lindsay wins the point i reckon. If it blew back and landed on Amelie's side she would win the point, so i think thats the only way lindsay could get it....

Well done. It couldn't be Marat getting married, because we'd all have heard about it, it was the Undertaker (picking the ideal time to get married - just about the only week of the year when he's not playing in a tournament somewhere , and when all the Russian boys are automatically going to be around), and as you can see, he was wearing his undertaker's coat for the occasion!
I'm not sure what they're doing in the picture, perhaps he's trying to kill her so he has something to 'undertake'!
Tursunov's take on the wedding:
"Of course the biggest event last week wasn’t the court in the gymnasium but the wedding of Nikolay Davydenko. It's funny how many people asked me in interviews on whether I think the wedding will be a distraction for the Davis Cup match or not. Umm… how?! I think that it’s the other way around. He got the wedding out of the way, there is no turning back now, she owns half of everything, and he’s got a motivation to win so his wife doesn’t make him sleep on the couch for a month. Not sure where the negatives or the distractions are in this scenario! Besides, Nikolay is one of the most professional players I know so I hardly doubt he would place two events of this caliber back to back if there was a slight chance for a distraction. In any case, we would have a heck of an excuse, so there are only positives!
Most people are getting excited at this point thinking that I will give an inside scoop on how everything was but I have to disappoint you. I believe that a wedding is a very personal celebration and that only the closest friends and family should be invited, so for this reason I don’t want to intrude onto his wedding with gossip. All I can tell you is that I was not his witness (best man) and that I am very disappointed in that. I figured that after losing to him in Paris 6-2, 6-2 and basically letting him win the tournament he should have at least let me be his best man or pronounce me his Best Friend or something. Nothing! Not even a “Best Friends Forever” bracelet! I made sure he was aware of my sorrow at the dinner with a beautiful speech! "
Not sure whether that means Mad Marat was his best man - probably not.
